Keali'i Ah Yat is currently the nations leader in passing yards

I was so wrong about this man. What an absolute stud. Shoutout to him and the coaching staff for the huge step forward he took this season.
Im gonna say this kid is right up there with dalton sneed. This fella has come a long way since the start of the season. NGL, i doubted the kid..... 😞

And he still hasn't come close to his ceiling yet! If he stays for another year we will be in for a real treat, I believe.

I was definitely on the Fife hype train last year, and I have never been happier to admit I was wrong.

i wasnt really worrying about which QB last year, i was more concerned on popcorning the QBs around. i dont think that was a "genius" move like Hauck said in a statement/interview.

I think Hauck was trying to hide Ah Yat's injuries at that point, to be honest.
Was he hurt right at the beginning of the season? I dont recall him being hurt. I do recall popcorning them throughout the game for half the season if not more. Which didnt allow either one of them to get settled in. I think fife was the better choice (only due to having a little more experience).

My understanding, and it was said privately during last year, was that the first few games the rotation was intentional to get one of them to beat out the other. Ah Yat did that, and then suffered injuries, leading to the appearance for the rest of the season that we couldn't settle on one.

I'm obviously not privy to a lot of details around injuries, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

This is my assessment as well, and has been verified. Ah yat was intended to be the dude , just couldn't stay healthy.

I can understand that the first 1-2 games maybe 3 (at most) they should compete for it, but not half if not more of the season. I think fife shoulda got the job after the 2nd/3rd game (with getting Ah Yat some good amount of reps). But then i got back and think of him saying he was gonna split before the we were beat out of the playoffs (wish we woulda just benched fife and run with Ah Yat all the way). But like u said, he was injured. Football is a headache but a whole lot of fun 😂! I appreciate the knowledge!

I'm glad to see a Keali'i Ah Yat mention this week on the message board. He's been so consistently exceptional that I think we are taking him for granted. He is supremely physically and emotionally gifted. The next step for Ah Yat is to grow his confidence more than where he is now. The 2nd pass to Bohannon, that was a little short, was a result of him trying to aim rather than pass. Ah Yat's gotta let it fly and trust in himself more than he already does. Some of that comes from experience and some comes from teammates and some comes from family support and some comes from working with a sports psychologist and some comes from working with a positive coach who pumps him up and most of the time it comes from all of the above.
