Harvard Ranked Fairly High in Polls - Some Harvard-Dartmouth Material

They are impressive for 1970 but any team from that era would get waxed against teams from this era. Montana today could compete with NFL teams from the 1970s.
Are you saying that Babe Ruth, Jim Thorpe and Jesse Owens didn’t play at a high level or accomplish anything? The topic was play at a high level. So the 1995 Griz football team didn’t play at a high level? The US military didn’t accomplish anything because modern day militaries would beat them?

Like the Steelers? Another ridiculous statement.
Steelers star center Mike Webster was 6’1 255 pounds. Do you seriously think he would stand a chance at not getting mauled against 6’4 275 pound Caleb Kidder or any other interior defensive player on the Griz in the last 20 years?

My uncle played with was teammates with one of the most dominant offensive lines of this era the late 1980s Washington Redskins and he will even say the offensive and defensive lines in the modern era are a lot bigger, faster and stronger than in the 1970s and 1980s.

You're delusional. Seek mental help.

In 1918, Henry Ford was worth $100 million ($1.8 Billion in today's money). 8th richest person in the US. None of his cars were as fast or big as the cars now. Does that mean Ford wasn't very rich and didn't accomplish much. On one person was worth more than $1Billion then, Rockefeller, does that mean he really wasn't very rich and didn't accomplish much, and didn't play and compete at a high level.

Do you think having a photo in some random SI.com online version, is the same as being on the cover of SI magazine in 1971?

Are you still in grade school?

Are you sure that football players now are bigger, faster and stronger than they were 100 years ago? Did your uncle tell you that? How did you ever come up with that idea?

This is the Hog I defended when he was a TE at Columbia. Have you uncle contact him and confirm that I played against him. I don't think he could a pass on me. George Starke also played basketball for Columbia.

i am pretty sure sports illustrated had an article in the magazine about krysko. does that count?

Perhaps. And they were undefeated and ranked in the top 20 at the time. 61,000 in attendance.

Interesting that you picked the Yale game.

“Game of the Year of the Day, 1970: Dartmouth 10, Yale 0
Bob Blackmon’s 1970 Dartmouth Indians: one of the 50 best of all time.”

The Ivies were pretty god in those days.

When was the last time time Montana was
ranked in the D1 top 20 UM and MSU were Small College the.
Ivies were gods back then....but asked odd questions. 2nd grade stuff.

How come only 3,471 (announced😀?) going now?

Don't know what your 3,471 figure refers to.

"HANOVER, N.H. Yale scored a go-ahead touchdown with 37 seconds remaining, but the Dartmouth football team drove 42 yards [in 7 plays] to get Owen Zalc into field goal range, and he wouldn't disappoint as he drilled a 51-yard field goal as time expired to give the Big Green a thrilling 17-16 win on Saturday afternoon to cap off Homecoming in front of 7,895 fans in attendance. Saturday's game was presented by The Richards Group. The Big Green were held scoreless until the fourth quarter, when they reeled off 17 points over the final 10:24."

The Ivies dropped to FCS, like the Griz. No more D1. General lack of interest in the Ivies. There are parties to be had, academic awards to be won, and money to be made.

  • 10-year average or median salaries. I couldn't find UM, but MSU was $53,000, which I assume is higher than UM because of engineering.

$44,511

Midpoint for 4-yr Colleges: $53,727"
"How much money do Dartmouth College graduates make and which majors earn the most upon graduating? Six years after enrolling, alumni who are working have average earnings of $68,200 per year. After ten years, graduates earn $104,000 on average."
