2026 Schedule

The “Bubs” lose almost their entire starting D line, which I am told is by far the best position group on their team this year. They better portal hard if they are going to be the favorite next year.
Oregon and SDSU Oline had their way with the bubs, if that is the strength of their team they have no chance against either North Dakota team.

Grizz have less than a zero% chance if beating OSU. They will win by 10 to 14 points.

NDSU would only beat them by 17+ we rarely lose to FBS schools

UW paid the Griz $675,000 so I would imagine OSU would be fairly close to that.
OSU is in a non-power 4 conference now, so I would think it is around 400K. They don't have near the revenue that the B1G schools have. Unfortunate for them and Washington State.

Hmm. Well we'll see but I don't think the Griz would go there for that kind of money. They make more money staying home.

How did we get Idaho two years in a row at home?
We knew that already. The radio guys were talking about it at the night game against Idaho that they would be in Missoula again in 2026. No one said why, but I am sure it just had to do with drawing up the new schedule minus Suck St, plus the UT's. If you look back on the historical scores, there have been back to back years of playing a team at the same site and it usually has to do with addition and subtraction.

That's great if they are getting $675K. I just know that OSU and WSU are not in as advantagous finanical shape that they once were.

Well, they had a game with Idaho they pushed back on the schedule for 2028. That contract was executed in 2022 before anyone was looking to leave the PAC 12, but they are paying the Vandals $675,000 for it.

There is nothing I find yet on the Griz/OSU, but the schedule was just posted, so I will keep an eye out to see if they list the terms of the contract for the 2026 game for the Griz.

Also found it interesting that the one team that still has an open date is Cal Poly and the only team with Suck State on their calendar is Southern Utah.

I’ve already seen the details. We’re getting $675k from OSU for the game.

It is a winnable game and a great place to go see a game… glad the Griz are playing it
Pretty cool that the last time we played OSU, Brian Ah Yat led the Griz to a win as a first year sophomore starter on September 7, 1996. Assuming K Ah Yat does not portal out, son gets his chance to do what the old man got done. 35 - 14. Brian was 20 of 36 for 177 yards 2 TDs 0 picks. Leading receiver Joe Douglass 6 catches 62 yards 2 TDs. Leading rusher Josh Branen 11 carries 45 yards 2 TDs. Gales also had a rushing touchdown.

Shouldn't they be in a pretty good spot financially? They got to keep the entire Pac-12 war chest.
Everyone forgets these scheduling contracts are signed two to four years in advance, i.e. Griz v. SDSU in Vegas in 2029. The PAC 12 still had 12 teams in it at the time this deal was made. Scheduling doesn't occur the year prior. Also, OSU and WSU are fighting with the teams that left to keep all of the conference money. Not sure that litigation has been resolved yet.
Same concept applies for how good or bad a team is when we play them. When UND, In. St., or Sacred Heart are scheduled, the Griz have no idea what they are going to get. The school announced playing UND in Feb. of 2024. So the deal was probably initiated in 2023 and finalized shortly thereafter.
