Do you think the fans of their former teams care? Are they ambivalent to their former players' success? Do they secretly root for them or are they pissed they left and jealous of theirs and their teams' success?

EWU is 3-1 in conference right now. Imagine if they still had Wortham and we didn't?
PSU is horrid. Would they still be horrid with Wing? And we saw what our defense looked like the 1/2 he missed for the bogus targeting call.

Davis is still good, but Gale has been a pleasant surprise at TE for us with some key grabs...

99% don't care.

We should have someone talking after each conference game to players on other teams that we're interested in. These guys having sustained success here is an amazing recruiting tool.

EWU fans definitely miss Wortham (they're pretty vocal about it on twitter lol), but they'd probably be where there still are because the rest of that team sucks. Their 3 wins came against the worst teams in the conference.
Same with Wing. He's not dragging PSU out of a 0-8 record. Haven't heard from PSU fans because I literally only know of 1 (shoutout Jalmond).
Gale would probably be the #2 TE at UCD, but they're getting good production from Simpson and Dixon. I think they're fine with him leaving.

I think we should be doing this going forward as part of our recruiting strategy, we can offer more then most in the Big Sky and im sure a few would love to come play here. Lewis from ISU (their big NG) would be someone I'd go after in the upcoming off season.

Is it ok to talk to opposing players during the season? I would think the Griz coaches wouldn’t want someone in the ear of one of their players after a game.
I think the Griz play on the field and a WaGriz experience will speak for itself during the season.

I don't think it's a violation to tell a kid to keep his DMs open after the season. That's about all the time we'd have for after games, anyways.

As for other teams, I'm almost positive there have been and will continue to be tons of people affiliated with FBS teams contacting our guys during the season in a similar fashion.

Not saying it doesn’t happen, doesn’t seem like something the Griz have to stoop to. Finish the season first and keep it known to the current players how valuable they are.

At this point, yes, it is happening regularly. My understanding is that major school like Oregon have recruiting staff dedicated to this. You can't make them an offer, but you can sure shake their hand after the game and say "man, we have always wanted to have a guy just like you on our team. Great game. Hope we talk soon."
