Can The GRIZ......?

Personally, I feel their only chance to see the field is in the next 3 games or due to injury. I, also, feel the offense can do the job to make your suggestion come true. Portland State would be the best opportunity.

Hopefully they can get some QB rotation in during each of the next three games. I'm glad Ah Yat has been getting his playing time throughout this season. His development has really shown. Yet the original premise is right. In a pinch we have to have a capable/competent/prepared backup ready to roll.

Offense get big enough leads to get qb reps for Jensen and or Flowers, with them running the full offense.

After seeing the Sac State hit on AhYat and SDSU struggled without their starting qb, I'm a little concerned. Praying AhYat doesn't get injured. Not sure if we'd recover if he goes down.
I'm sure they'll get put in if we're winning by a lot in the coming weeks, but getting them reps now isn't going to do much in case they need to start.

If we lose Ah Yat, we're not gonna make it very far.

Good question and good point. I'd love to see Jensen get some time.

I was wondering this myself. Griz need to get the game out of reach a few times to get your key players some rest/ recovery. Not having a bye week is brutal

When other QBs do get in in blowout games, it doesn't help much because they are not allowed to throw the ball or open up the play list. They just get to hand the ball off to RBs diving into the middle of line to keep the clock running. The objective is to make it clear that the foot is off the throttle and there is no effort for further scoring.

Give Jensen live reps the next few weeks. Maybe the third drive and maybe one at the end of the first half hopefully in a 2 minute situation. Then see how the score is in the second half.
If Griz are as much better than the next three opponents as everyone seems to think they are a few drives by the backup shouldn't hurt anything.

I don't see the fascination with trying to force the backup into game action when KAY is healthy unless it is mop-up duty in the 4th qtr of a blowout.
There is no fascination. There is concern we have zero experience in the QBs backing Ah Yat up and there could be opportunities in upcoming easier games to remedy that. I don't see the resistance to that objective.

Reality is, if they need to rely on someone other than KAY, it is probably a done deal. I don't have an issue playing the guys behind KAY, I just don't think pulling KAY on the 3rd drive of the game to get a drive for the backup is the way to do it. If you want to play them in the 4th quarter in a blowout, so be it.
