Recording tonight! Plenty to talk on from the Panda Bowl and as the post season picture starts to form up.

Will Sacramento State even have a football program next season?
Did the Grizzlies put the final nail in the coffin of them moving up?

It’s pretty clear Montana hasn’t been able to build offensive and defensive lines that can physically match North Dakota State, and to be fair, Montana State hasn’t either (history backs that up). My question is: do we actually need to?

This season, Montana’s elite skill players have been able to tilt games, almost taking a page out of those Vernon Adams/Cooper Kupp-era EWU teams, but with Montana’s resources and coaching behind it.

Is this finally Bobby Hauck acknowledging that we simply cannot out-NDSU NDSU in the trenches, no matter how hard we try, but we can potentially compete, and beat them by leaning on:

-Elite quarterback play to maximize space and matchups
-Elite Perimeter receivers and speed
-Slot-hybrid freak show playmakers who stress space (Wortham)
-Elite Running backs used horizontally (toss, screens, outside zone)
-Quickness over brute force
-Misdirection and spacing concepts
-Elite special teams and returners to swing momentum and shorten fields (2023 NDSU @ Montana Semi-Final)

Given our consistent inability to match NDSU’s power in the trenches, is leaning into pure skill-position dominance, and consistently rolling out multiple Walter Payton Award–level playmakers simontanuiously the only realistically viable path to beating them?

My question is why can’t Montana build the trenches like SU? What barriers exist to accomplishing that?

Given the Dakota Marker game is always played in October, would you like to see Griz-Cat game moved earlier in the season? That gives the loser some weeks to potentially get back on a winning streak and not go into the playoffs on a loss. This year the loser could possibly lose a high seed to Tarlton or not overtake them.

I’m not sure why Montana can’t build trenches like NDSU, but history shows we simply don’t. They’ve sent a ton of linemen to the NFL and look like a good FBS program up front. For whatever reason, we can’t match that.

My question is: if we can’t beat them in the trenches, is there another realistic path to overcoming them given our resources?

Agreed, cat-griz at the end of the year sucks for whoever loses if both teams are top 5

Is the 3-3-5 still the defense the Griz should be running? Can they stop a power run game like MSU’s or NDSU’s? Especially NDSU, who has a QB that can also beat you in the air. Stacking the box would leave the corners very exposed. I actually like the 3-3-5. Others not so much.

No. I want to game to be the last game of the regular season. If you can’t win when it REALLY matters, then….

i’m not 100% sure that we dominated as much as we think we did, if they convert that kick return and don’t get a penalty or they complete that fake punt and play a little bit more disciplined. I think it was a closer game. Why am I wrong?

The scats played Idaho State and Cal Poly the next game after the Griz beat them up. The same will be true for Weber State. Why don't the Griz play a team the week after the scats this season?

Why can eGriz be such a cesspool of idiotic buffoonery(i.e. publicly calling players out)?

Funny, Sac State petitioned to join the ranks of the FBS, but they were denied because no FBS conference wanted to give them an invitation.

I think I have the question of all questions.

What…in the actual hell… made Michael Wortham choose Eastern Washington over the Grizzlies??? He is clearly having a blast with us and is probably the best all purpose player in the FCS.
Wortham, from the Sacramento area, said Sac State had three opportunities to pick him up, and passed on all three.
