NDSU vs SDSU Game Today

Top 5 teams should be
1. NDSU
2. Griz
3. UND
4. Tarleton
5. SDSU(only with Mason, without they're barely a top 10)
Unfortunately, it’s not close. We would 100% lose that game in the trenches. Not selling Griz stock, just saying thats a B1G O-line. I just don’t think we have the dudes to slow it down. Whether the UM offense can keep the score honest is another matter entirely.

I honestly don’t think you can leave MSU out of the top 5 at this point. Tarleton hasn’t played anyone. They shouldn’t be in the top 5. Weak conference. MSU stays at 5. Just my opinion, which is worth nothing!!
They beat an FBS team... and from when I have watched them with their starting QB, they've looked better than SDSU.

I debated at putting MSU at 5 but, SDSU beat them so I went with them based on that alone.

Also, you could say a lot of top 25 teams havent played anyone yet. FCS is pretty weak this year.

I think it would be a much different game now for the Cats vs SDSU. The Cats have come a llong way since then. Cats would win.

I've now watched 3 SDSU games this season, and I still think that SDSU doesn't look like they have the same juice they did in the last 4 years. In a way, they remind me of us last season compared to our 2023 team: a lot of the same guys are there, but something feels like it's missing, and the newer guys just aren't the same.

NDSU looks really good, and will be the team to beat again this season, but even with their starting QB, I don't think SDSU would've kept this much closer.

I couldn't find an NDSU depth chart, game notes or program. AI reported the following:

Based on the North Dakota State University Athletics official roster and other sports information sources, here are the heights and weights for the starting 2025 offensive line.

The 8 UM OL I recall as playing alot are: 6'6' 294, 280 and 318. 6'7" 301, 6'5" 316, 6'4" 295, and 6'1" 285.

Different game now because their QB is out?
I was not impressed with your QB. Even Traitorak was saying he was “off”. He was missing wide open WRs. Doesn’t seem like a winning formula when the weather changes or when they finally meet a good team, like in the playoffs.
And I would be surprised if he makes it to or through cat/Griz unharmed. He thinks he’s being tough but he’s really just being stupid.
Also, your D didn’t look like the world beaters as hyped. The couple drives I saw, CP’s backup QB carved them up.
Veggie tray was having a meltdown. It was the most emotion I’ve ever seen from him.

Agree with NDSU being head and shoulders above this SDSU version, and no Mason does not play defense for the Bunnies.

However without the dude on offense SD State went three and out every time they had the ball. Their first first down was not until half way through the second quarter. That goes a long ways towards the Buffs 31 points
3 and outs put a D on the field more, but a good D shouldn’t give up that many yards and points. Why couldn’t the D stop or slow the Bison?

Watched the game and noticed that in several series in the 2nd and 3rd quarters that when NDSU had the fotoball they went run, run, then pass to get out of a 3rd and long.
Tells me two things...
1) SDSU up front D line is stout, yet their secondary is soft and can be picked apart
2) due to SDSU front D line being stout, when the QB for NDSU rolled out they didn't have the juice to get him...always two steps away from a sack when he rolled out.

Great. UM has comparable weight and might have a slight height advantage. I know plenty of 6’5” males who couldn’t dunk it and moved like sloths. Are the UM linemen as athletic and what do they squat, bench, power clean, etc? Glad U of M has big dudes and I hope they are comparable all the way around. We won’t know that until the two teams play. NDSU is working teams over right now. U of am had a very solid game against Sac State and the O Line played well. I look forward to watching their continued development.

Disagree with you there. A QB that can sustain drives helps out a defense that is on the field all the time. The time of possession for that game was basically NDSU 38:00, and SDSU 22:00. That's really no rest for a tired defense. I still think NDSU wins even if Mason plays, but the game would have been a bit closer.

Don’t know. I was only addressing size. The size comment wasn’t accurate.

SDSU got run over before they were tired too. Scored TD’s in its first 3 possessions. Scored 31 in first half and only 7 in second half.

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on social media (and here) of people saying that NDSU is the clear favorite and that they’re likely going to win the championship because if they can blow out SDSU like they did, nobody is going to touch the Bison.

I can understand that people feel they are the best team in the FCS, but are people forgetting that this was THE rivalry game for NDSU/SDSU? That rivalry is pretty much like Cat Griz where all bets are off the table and you can either have a close game or a blowout. Add to the fact that SDSU was without their starting QB and their best defensive player left the game in street clothes and wearing a boot, the wheels came off.

Just my opinion, I agree that NDSU is clearly the favorite but they’re still beatable. Their ranked wins now are over SDSU, an over ranked Illinois State, overranked South Dakota, and Southern Illinois.

Rivalry games are weird. NDSU was firing on all cylinders last night, but I still think that Montana, Montana State, and North Dakota State have the ability to play toe-to-toe with them.
