I’m stunned that they didn’t call targeting because of the defender launching himself into and aiming high on Ah Yat.

Targeting doesn’t have to be a direct hit to exactly the head neck area for it to be targeting.

You can’t just launch yourself up into an unprotected player.

Maybe not how it used to be, but typically that is how it is called nowadays

My point exactly. They are trying to take this kind of hit out of the game. Launching to initiate forceable contact is dangerous for both players involved. The league will review the hit and render judgment. It should be called targeting by rule but it is the Big Sigh so probably not.
