New Commit Cooper Cyphers

He was all-state as a junior, and preseason ranked the sixth best defensive lineman in Texas high school football. His school, Aledo High School in Texas, is a 5A power, winning more state championships than any other school. So he’s a great player who comes from a winning lineage.

I suggest you take 5 to 10 minutes of your time and watch some of his highlights here on hudl….. my goodness! A motor. Physical. Disruptive.

Just watched that first clip and man he can play. Sets the edge real well, gets off blocks, extends his arms and drives the tackle back several steps in a couple clips. He looks real good

I always loved football players that also wrestled in high school, especially on the Dline. They have a special nastiness and drive that other players lack. They understand leverage and how to get and keep a low base and explode through the offensive player with their hips. They learn hand-fighting and have a strong grip.

But he's not a Montana kid so he can't be a very good football player. Just ask Colter and Schmidt and so many on eGriz.
Don’t think that was their point…..it was more if an out of state kid excels he will likely transfer up as opposed to a Montana kid who will likely stick around.

The young man has Montana roots apparently, Butte lineage
Kid is related to the Carriger family somehow. I'll find out how next week. Jaison Carriger played tight end for the Griz in the mid-2000s from Butte.
