Another concert this week for the Griz game... Quavo scheduled

Poor security and crowd control measures are recipe for disaster when you are not used to having 20,000+ fans around. With the game on ESPN2 this week and the Sac State president trying to rally the troops I hope they are able to not have as much fighting in the stadium this week.

They will no doubt storm the field after the game if Sacramento State comes out on top.

As somebody who's been to Sac before and kind of knows the layout of the stadium, I can assure you Griz fans will be ok. As long as you stay on the vistor's side you're good. There are no Sac State fans that sit over there, so it will be all Griz fans. There's bathrooms on that side, there's a ticket gate on that side, and I think there might even be a small concession stand over there as well. There's no reason to venture over to the main grandstand or either endzone unless you're feeling up for it. We'll have everything we need on our side.

That IDK. when we were there 3 years ago, the GPS screwed up the route and brought us all the way over to the other side of campus and we ended up just walking all the way across campus so I'm not sure what those lots around the stadium are like. We parked in a parking garage that was a ways away.

Announcers kept saying 20k for the Sac vs. NoCO game, but I not sure how they fit that many with the tarps over most of the East stands. I would think they take the tarp off for Griz game.

Yeah, they went wild after Griz loss in 2019, but it is easy to get out of the East side stands fast. Just watch out for fireworks being shot off the parking garage.

The home side can cold roughly 12,000 if really packed. Then you have the Broad Deck, the WELL deck, suites, new field suites, and South End Zone stands, probably get you close to 15,000. The visiting side easily had 5,000 of the 12,000 or so on that side filled.

One thing you'll notice is that the cameras are operating from the visitor's side so the stadium shows much better on TV. I don't think the tarps will come off because it's a weeknight and the Kings home opener, HS football, etc.

I think we still get 15k+, but doubt it will be packed like last weekend.

Two from Kalispell heading out Wednesday..Thanks for your input..As a first timer to Sacramento, a couple questions for you or anyone else.
1) Best to get tickets online through Sac Website?
2) Any recommended hotels, or areas to avoid?

1) That's pretty much the only way to get tickets to this game is through their site and it looks like there's plenty left.
2) We're staying at the Hyatt out by the airport. That's a pretty safe spot if you're worried about any potential bad areas. Last time there we stayed close to campus, can't remember what the hotel was but it was over by like Cheesecake Factory and was in like a cluster of hotels and restaurants. That wasn't a bad area either.

I went to the last two Griz games at Sac, Visitors side is mostly griz fans.
I'm not going this year because Griz lost last two times I was there. I do my part for the victory and stay home lol!
There was a nice hotel across from Davis medical center very safe.
Lots of weed smoked at tailgates so careful getting a contact high walking thru.
