Cignetti - former JMU coach

NDSU is able to recruit Minnesota as part of their in state tuition. That's helpful. NDSU is also closer to better recruiting areas without as much competition. Would you rather play at Minnesota or NDSU? Outside of playing in the Big Ten stadiums, not much upside.
NDSU is not attracting the best talent in Minnesota to play for them. They are finding the under the radar guys, like we do with small school players, and developing them. If they were getting the best talent in Minnesota, Koi Perich would be playing for NDSU and not Minnesota and Roman Voss would be going to NDSU instead of Minnesota. Most Minnesotans think of NDSU as the cute little bro who plays good football in a far inferior division and the best place to hire new employees because they will work 80 hours a week for next to nothing.

As you know proximity matters. Who are those guys you mentioned anyways?! NDSU would beat Minnesota in most years.

Good for him. What an absolutely amazing head coach. Bet on himself at age 50 and decided to take a several hundred thousand dollar pay cut from a P4 assistant coach to become a D2 head man. Dominated. Took the job at Elon, turned their program into a winner. Headed to JMU and dominated. Took over a shitty Indiana squad and is dominating……what a story.

Guaranteed that Nebraska and Ohio State football coaches know who Koi Perich is. NDSU couldn't carry Minnesota's water for the last 7 years.
