Sacred Heart Pioneers scouting report

Sacred Heart is one spot above Indiana State in the all college football teams ranking. I'm going with the over on the spread and believe it will be another high scoring game for the Griz. Final score: Griz win 63 to 15.

Sacred Heart is a Roman Catholic university with 9,000 students in Connecticut. They play as an independent so their AD has to schedule any games they can get even if it means they fly to Missoula, get smoked in front of our home crowd in the most intimidating venue in the FCS. I say we put 49 points on them. If Loud is not healthy, then let him rest for this game and be prepared to re-enter conference games.

I think Loud and a handful of other dinged up guys will sit this one out.

This is enough to answer any questions anyone may have about why a 5-2 team has no votes in the polls.

Also of note, they lost to Lehigh (7-0) as many are aware, but they also lost to Central Connecticut State (3-3) in OT.

We should expect a blow out, hell, I want a shut out!!

Playing a team that has only been in front of 8K that is traveling 2,042 miles to the mountain west, its colder than what they might expect (15 degrees or more below their game time temp a week ago and they were complaining it was in the 60's) and there is all that scenery around you and then all of a sudden the volume goes up and suddenly it sets in you are alone in an environment unlike anything you have had to deal with before. It should be very distracting.
Agreed. I would love to see a donut in this one with a pretty hefty double-digit score (42-0) (49-7).

We all know without a single doubt among us that Coach Hauck will take the foot off of the gas. It happens every single game. Well, except once this year. but jebus I don't think they had the practice squad rotating in during the 4th, but I saw players I never thought I would see for a year or two.

I want another game like that. I doubt we will see another one though. I can't confirm it, but it's my guess there comes a point where He says "Okay... DO NOT SCORE AGAIN." Which is BS because other teams do it, and their guys end up winning hardware that our guys could win. Imagine Gillman with a five TD day and 300 APY... That would place him as a front runner for the Payton. But... we will never ever see that. One it would be hard anyway, but Hauck would never allow something like that.

Here's the report of my buddy who lives in the East and follows football closely. This is his general impression. He hasn't looked at Sacred Heart this year.

"SH is changing conferences. There has been a lot of movement among FCS conferences in the Northeast.

SH had been in the Northeast Conference (NEC) with schools like Central CT State and Duquesne. Now they are joining the Coastal Athletic Association (formerly Colonial) with schools like UNH, Maine and Villanova. The CAA is a step up in class from the NEC

SH has been using a lot of transfers thru the portal. They have some pretty good players but not much depth. They are 5-2 with losses to Lehigh and Central Ct.

I expect the Griz will win easily and wouldn’t be surprised by a complete rout.'

Just win. Stay healthy/get healthy. Get a little better. Repeat.
Would be nice to have a game where I'm not pacing the floor until the middle of the fourth quarter!

Go Griz!!

Sports books have Griz by 31. That’s too high imo. But it should be a comfortable win.
I respectfully disagree. I feel like the Griz got a lot figured out in the second half of that last game on defense. The starting offense will score into the high 40s. Backups will be able to score as well (even if they are tasked with running the ball). I'll bet there is a ST or defensive TD scored as well.

This game will be ugly. This is like Oregon playing the cats in Eugene. Two teams on completely different planes of existence. Take the Griz and the points.

SHU running back was freshman FCS player of the week and their PK was honorable mention.
I would say it's not overly difficult to get FOTW when you play Howard. So I looked at the recap. He had an 80 yard TD run and a 49 yard TD run. Slow week for the FCS hardware guys?
