Cat running backs so far this season

Which OL were back?
Burke Mastel was the key OL lineman that returned. I cannot recall the other. When Mastel came back they were able to settle on the starters. Previously they were switching OL between guard and tackle. Also they settled on JT Reed at center.

So they are an injury away from mediocre. Got it.

Let's not. That's not how stats are kept. Central WA is better than some teams the Cat played. Cats got stomped by Oregon. The Griz wouldn't have gotten stomped like that, and Gillman would have gotten more yards.

Your running backs and OL sucked at the beginning of the season. This is from observation, talking to some friends/family in Bozeman, and from talking to a former Cat OL who goes to all the home games.

Picking Jones are the pre-seasons O MVP of the conference looked like a joke when it occurred, and now it's clearly a joke.

Gillman is having a great season. He is way better than your backs. In fact, he's 3 times better than both of them put together. Gillman is getting some very tough yards. It's the way the Griz play. To some extent, they pound into the D's packing the box, to start to wear them down. Then, as the game goes on, the holes open up. It's worked in various games.
If Gilman is that much better than both of the MSU backs, then why did he produce so much less against the only common opponent this year?

Illness? Injury? They loaded the box to stop him and gave Jones and Davis more room to run?

Also, man, nobody has more stalkers that Hoops.
Sounds like excuses, and unless we’re willing to make similar excuses for the cats backs, we shouldn’t make them for Gillman.

And that must be a testament to all the stupid shit he says.

Just answering your question. If any response is met with "sounds like excuses," then not much conversation can be had.

Yeah, the point of my comment was to express how stupid these arguments are. The same things mentioned about Eli can probably be said about the other backs. Unless the commenter is watching every game of both teams, they can’t really present an honest argument on stats alone as there are so many variables involved.

Thanks for creating a screen name to make this point. The owners of eGriz thank you for your support.

No problem, glad I can help out.

And hey maybe one of these days Eli can outperform a MSU back against a common opponent, since he is so much better than both of them combined.
Plenty of opportunity for him ahead, but then you'll also have tape to review on Sac St and Weber to know just what to do as well.

That will give you more time to make up reasons we should throw out other games to level things up as well.

I love how we'll just apparently have this RB argument forever lmao

You guys could just go back and read the threads on this from the last two seasons, and it's the exact same shit
