Cuban just donated an "undisclosed amount". I don't think Cignetti is going anywhere.
RECRUITING. SimpleHe already has Indiana at a fairly dominating level. Why leave? Hes already a millionaire, hes already built the culture. Personally I would find it more rewarding to just keep kicking blue blood teams asses with an upstart football program. I never understood leaving something you built for a program like Penn St etc
Nothing is stopping roster tampering right now.Yes, absolutely, I heard on Saturday the calls would be coming for Franklin's job but that Penn State couldn't afford the buy out, so that was WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY off.
If they are going to go after coaches at midseason though, what is to stop roster tampering next? I just don't believe the NCAA has the teeth any more to stop any of it though.
Penn State might have to with the buyout from Franklin and whatever they are going to pay the incoming coach. He will have a massive buyout as well. Franklin won a lot of games there. Can you win a National Championship at Penn State now?Penn State could probably pay twice as much as Indiana can.
And I guarantee you Indiana's buyout for Cignetti isn't $49MM lolPenn State could probably pay twice as much as Indiana can.
Yes, it’s an awful lot like Temu Montana.
If you win, recruits will come regardless of location. Look at what Nebraska did for decades. Look at what NDSU does.RECRUITING. Simple
That is not true. Indiana was 14/18 in the Big Ten recruiting, 46th nationally. He isn't winning because he's getting blue chips. I think you are young, but Nebraska wasn't getting the best recruits in the nation for most of Tom Osbornes run. It was mostly in state walk ons and bloated roster of 150 and the best strength and conditioning program in the country. NDSU is able to recruit Minnesota as part of their in state tuition. That's helpful. NDSU is also closer to better recruiting areas without as much competition. Would you rather play at Minnesota or NDSU? Outside of playing in the Big Ten stadiums, not much upside. If you win, recruits will come regardless of location. Look at what Nebraska did for decades. Look at what NDSU does.
Who the hell would want to live in either of those places?
I can't stand Cignetti.Pretty remarkable that coach Cignetti now has Indiana University as one of the top three ranked teams in college football and they just beat the Oregon ducks in Eugene on Saturday.
You may recall, he helped JMU reach its pinnacle before they transitioned into FBS. And he has made Indiana pretty darn good since taking over. Dude can obviously coach.
Accurate. It is the range of 20% of that number. And I guarantee you Indiana's buyout for Cignetti isn't $49MM lol
Is there a winning college coach that you can stomach?I can't stand Cignetti.
How come?I can't stand Cignetti.
When we played at JMU in the playoffs in 21, in the post game interview, Cignetti made some crack about knocking out the QB and I remember thinking it was somewhat distasteful. Not sure that was the right moment to make a joke like that. How come?
Good enough for me!When we played at JMU in the playoffs in 21, in the post game interview, Cignetti made some crack about knocking out the QB and I remember thinking it was somewhat distasteful. Not sure that was the right moment to make a joke like that.
That's exactly what it is, and it wasn't just that once. The guy does it all the time. Cry Baby Curt.Good enough for me!
You are proving how simple minded you are.. You’re from North Dakota yeah? That’s hilarious. Did you hear they’re filming the next Bachelor at a family reunion in Fargo? Now you say “cringe” and I say “eat a bag of shit”.
I had no idea about the comments about Montana. However, I respect the guy a ton. He left a great gig at Alabama to coach a D2 team. He climbed through the ranks the hard way and think most respect that. That's exactly what it is, and it wasn't just that once. The guy does it all the time. Cry Baby Curt.
Don't misunderstand me, as a coach, I respect the guy immensely. I just can't stand it when he opens his mouth.I had no idea about the comments about Montana. However, I respect the guy a ton. He left a great gig at Alabama to coach a D2 team. He climbed through the ranks the hard way and think most respect that.
I’ve spent 3 days in Indiana. 1 of those days incarcerated. It was the worst 10 years of my life.Yes, it’s an awful lot like Temu Montana.
