Jeff Choate’s failing Nevada Wolfpack

Nevada’s only win this season was by 3 points against FCS Sac State. It has me wondering if Nevada is regretting leaving the Big Sky where they could be more competitive or they are just regretting hiring a coach whose only accomplishment seems to have been capitalizing on Stitt’s indifference to the Griz Cat rivalry.

Nailed it. Choate is such a mediocre head coach who would've been ran out of bozeman had in not been for wins against mediocre griz teams.

If the Cats have most of the same team they should have a good chance to win in Reno. Of course if the coaching staff and a lot of the players leave after this season all bets are off. This could also change if Nevada hires a competent coach in the offseason.

One things for sure IMO, with Nevada struggling, Wyoming fans mad at their HC, Oregon State firing their HC etc. I think it's safe to say Vigen and possible Marion (according to a few lists) might be gone by next season.

I don’t think Nevada has EVER…looked back and regretted leaving the mighty Big Sky Conference.
The same can’t be said of the hiring of a head coach often referred to as …Jeff Choke..

A reason why Nevada could be regretting moving up right now is they do not have the funds or support to compete in the FBS regardless of who the coaching staff is. The facilities are worse than Montana’s, they do not have an indoor facility.

Is it a fact that Nevada regrets moving up?

There is likely zero (0%) chance Nevada regrets moving up. The amount of money their basketball program has generated alone in their success alone has made it worth it. Their football program has enjoyed success over the years. There is a strong chance they regret hiring jeff choate as their football coach.

Nevada is 1-5 after getting stomped by San Diego State yesterday 44-10 in Reno and If Choate wasn't on the hot seat at the beginning of the year, he will be by the end of this year provided that he doesn't still get canned this year

One of my peers at the youth service's center in Billings, a Wyoming alum, mentioned to me that the Poke's faithful haven't been real happy since Craig Bohl retired, and he said that if the current regime in Laramie doesn't work out, he thought his Pokes, currently 3-3, would be really interested in hiring their former OC and Bohl TE and coach at NDSU, Brent Vigen.

I laughed, told him Choda was really struggling @ Nevada, and if Wyo. hired Coach Vigen, we could see Choate back as skipper @ MSU.

This never could happen ... or could it ?

If Vigen is gone and Choate is gone from Nevada...the kittens would hire Choate in a NY minute...why? Cause his teams beat the Griz.

Nevada is in process of building an indoor facility.

I creep here but have been trying to not post as much, you guys have an abundance of Cat Trolls. If this scenario played out, I’ll cancel my donations to the Cats and send to Griz and provide proof on this board. I don’t have any respect for Choate and don’t like the all bark no bite approach. I do not think the administration would want him back but if that happens it will be what pushes me back to being a Griz fan.
