I imagine wide reciever. What’s his NFL position? Anyone?

His great leaping catch in the back of the end zone a couple games ago was not a wheel route. I think he catches passes on the middle too. In fact, I think he catches in multiple place and in multiple routes. That doesn't mean I think he can make the NFL as a receiver.KR/PR, maybe, but I agree with EG, he'd have to run one hellacious 40 to make that.
As a receiver, he basically runs a wheel route and nothing else so that isn't going to get you to the next level.
Agreed, that was more of just a seam route where he ran right up the numbers and Ah Yat put it in a spot where he could even run and get it or it was out of the back of the end zone. Not disagreeing at all with what you are saying, I don't believe his game translates as to the NFL, he's not another Tyreek Hill or anything like that. His great leaping catch in the back of the end zone a couple games ago was not a wheel route. He's much faster than Junior. He is a great player but not quite NFL sized, possibly the same issue Junior Bergen is facing.
Highly debatableHe's much faster than Junior.
Compare him to Bergen. Curious as to what you think.Walter Payton front runner. And yes, Wortham is NFL caliber. Every team in the NFL has a dude like Wortham. Smaller dude with speed, versatility and a special teams returner. We’ve never had a guy like Wortham. Straight up sniper!
I haven't seen that "dude" for Seattle, Houston or Washington, teams I've seen a few times this year. Maybe you can name each one since there are only 32 NFL teams and they each have one.Walter Payton front runner. And yes, Wortham is NFL caliber. Every team in the NFL has a dude like Wortham. Junior was the best punt returner we’ve ever had. I feel like Junior was also a little better kick returner. Flowers was the best kick returner we’ve ever had. Wortham is significantly more dynamic in the offense than junior. This guy is crisp on his routes, insanely athletic in the way he attacks the passing game and he plays with incredible instincts within the offense.Compare him to Bergen. Washington = McCaffreyI haven't seen that "dude" for Seattle, Houston or Washington, teams I've seen a few times this year. Maybe you can name each one since there are only 32 NFL teams and they each have one.
I just don't buy what you're selling or all of the P4 teams would have 3 or 4 of them and then it would be just ordinary, and teams would have schemed for that already.
If you look at this week's Monday press conference, Coach was asked when the last time was Montana had a player like that, and he immediately answered that we had Bergan last year. He then said "but Mike is special" quickly.
Both of these guys have done a lot in their college careers and I feel we say Junior shine the brightest on his special teams play, but he could sling it too. Just ask NDSU.
We've only seen Wortham for 5 games and I'm not ready to put him ahead of Gillman in Payton Award race. Eli has had a target on his back in every game this year and only ISU has been able to really contain him.
Also Mariani. All time great and I’m foolish for leaving his name out of the conversationJunior was the best punt returner we’ve ever had. I feel like Junior was also a little better kick returner. Please understand- comparing Junior and Wortham isn’t a slight to either guy because we are talking about a couple of guys that are fabulous, dynamic and explosive play makers. We are lucky as fans to experience these dudes!
can i try? wortham is faster, and makes quicker cuts. but he doesn't see the field on returns as well as bergen, who has a knack for finding the best seams to get through defenses. it seems wortham is a better route runner/receiver. so far his passes have been on target, to wide-open guys. bergen's pass against ndsu for the two pointer, which was mentioned in this thread, was deflected and caught on a 'lucky' bounce.Compare him to Bergen. Curious as to what you think.
Hopefully next in line at the "dynamic and explosive position" is Monte Gillman. We haven't seen a ton him, but he's damn fast...and his brother is pretty okay.Junior was the best punt returner we’ve ever had. I feel like Junior was also a little better kick returner. Yeah, the one end-around Monte ran earlier this season was fairly eye-opening. I think it was for 31 yards. As they say, quicker than a hiccup.Hopefully next in line at the "dynamic and explosive position" is Monte Gillman. We haven't seen a ton him, but he's damn fast...and his brother is pretty okay.
4.37 at the 40, a 10.74 in the 100 meters in high school.

I'd like to see it. However, talent and natural ability can only take you to a certain point, and that point ends at the NFL. Yeah, here come the Skattebo comments, but they are two totally different people. Skat is a Daryl Johnston Mike Alstott type guy, only batshit crazy.I would assume his current trajectory should have him at a 6th rd draft pick if he wanted that in stead![]()
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think that as long you are enrolled as a full-time student and working towards a degree (undergrad or graduate), there should be no limit on the number of years you can play.I am kind of surprised they haven't just thrown eligibility completely out of the window by now. I feel like it is coming. Congress needs to get them an anti-trust exemption so that the ship can be righted.
