From what I have heard Thompson is a complete stud. I think he will in rotation for sure. Maybe Aquino redshirts? It does appear the Griz are going to have nice depth and some serious competition for playing time.If I had to take a stab at the starting 5 and the main rotation, here's what I'd say:
1. Brooklyn Hicks
2. Money Williams
3. Courtney Anderson
4. Kadyn Betts
5. Te'Jon Sawyer
6. Trae Taylor
7. Chase Henderson
8. Grant Kepley
9. Amari Jedkins
A couple of the younger guys that I'm curious about are Aguino and Thompson. Both were prized recruits out of high school and will be good players for us down the road, but right now it's hard to see how they fit in to the rotation. I do think eventually Decuire will trim the rotation down to 8 and maybe even 7 like he has in years past, but at least for the start of the season I think he rolls with those 9.
Kind of worried about post play though, right? From what I have heard Thompson is a complete stud. I think he will in rotation for sure. Maybe Aquino redshirts? It does appear the Griz are going to have nice depth and some serious competition for playing time.
I think our post play will be good. Sawyer is a dawg (as we all know) and Trae Taylor had a massive season at Chico State last year. Sawyer is 6'8 and Taylor is 6'9 but we also have Kadyn Betts who I see playing the 4 more than the 5 and he's also 6'8 and gives you another big body rebounding option in the paint. Plus I think there's a chance we will see Amari Jedkins a fair amount as well and I thought he was good when he had his opportunities last year. There's certainly options but Sawyer is a very experienced player and I believe is the best returning big man in the BSC (Terri Miller at PSU close second) and now adding Taylor gives us a good one two punch this year.Kind of worried about post play though, right?
Taylor and Sawyer are both pretty good post players. Betts has nice size and it appears he rebounds well but I am not sure if plays much in the post offensively. Griz had a bunch of guys like Pridgen, Moore and Kai that rebounded well and it looks like new guys rebound well so that helps. But I agree with you that defending the post has been the Griz Achilles Heel that last few seasons and I guess it might be a challenge again.Kind of worried about post play though, right?
Yeah exactly. I think we are fine in the post. Defense should be good. The PG situation and outside shooting are interesting to me though. Money can play the point and be our leading scorer and can do it there full time? Or is Henderson? What do these transfer guards and wings have for outside shooting ability? Those are my questions.I think our post play will be good. Sawyer is a dawg (as we all know) and Trae Taylor had a massive season at Chico State last year. I know I'm in the minority on this, but I think Money is a better player when he's playing off the ball. I do not expect Money to be the PG. I think Money will play the 2 and the starting PG IMO will be Brooklyn Hicks. He has experience running the point in high school and also a little bit at UNLV. His numbers were pretty good his freshmen year before dipping a bit last year. Could've been just a shooting slump or maybe an injury or something, but I do expect him to bounce back and everything I've seen from pictures in practice and stuff is that it appears Hicks will be the starting PG and I think he will do well.Yeah exactly. There was a scrimmage last Saturday. You had to be a season ticket holder and contact Flores for clearance to attend. I went to softball instead. Anyone go and can give us their impression?Haven’t seen too many giving a preview or analysis. Super curious in the make up of this year’s team.

Rorie was back a couple weeks ago and let me know he thinks Hicks is the real deal. Hicks is from Tacoma like Ahmaad and he knows him well. Ahmaad does not give false praise to anyone. Trae Taylor is very good and the upside is even bigger. He is loving it here he told me. I had to miss the scrimmage and would love to hear from anyone that was there too.I know I'm in the minority on this, but I think Money is a better player when he's playing off the ball. As for Henderson, I expect him to come off the bench. He missed the entire season last year with a broken wrist and that's a hard one to come back from and sometimes can mess with your shot. He was a good player two seasons ago but I think it's gonna take him some time to get back up to game speed and get his legs under him.
