Post game presser?

If that was the first time the question had been posed, I would agree with the majority of you that feel that the response was harsh. The fact that it has been asked and answered so many times, I think it is understandable that taking to opportunity to ask it again because he has talked about rotation of other positions is very understandable.
If you look at Bobby's demeanor throughout this six plus minutes, he is very fidgety. I listened to his radio interview prior to this live and he seemed amped up, but very lighthearted and was joking with Riley and Greg, but when he got off that he mentioned the long trip home. It looked to me like he was anxious to get to that when I watch this and a full breakdown on every position had reached its limits.
If that's the case, he didn't need badgering on an old subject.
This guy's going back to a hotel to have a few belts while he posts his story, so hopefully he got what he wanted. Coach did do anything new to football coaches dealing with the media. Get over it.

I dont know the history of Frank asking about center rotation but I suspect he knew the question would get under Bobby's skin. All Bobby had to do is say "we rotate almost all positions"
It was late and a setup question. I don't fault Hauck.
I mean someone who demands so much composure from his athletes in much more high stress situations, probably should display more composure himself in far less stressful situations like dealing with Frank G.

He isn't displaying a lack of composure, he is displaying total disdain for Frank. It may surprise you, but Bobby has a pretty good relationship with most reporters, Frank is just the bottom of the barrel.

People are acting like this is a total stain on the university when in reality nobody outside of us diehard fans actually went searching for Bobby’s postgame press conference. I guarantee there’s a very minuscule amount of people who actually saw what he said. Did he come off as harsh? Sure. Does it matter in the end? Not really.

I agree and also posted that. I'm not worried about the 100 people who watched the press conference. The press conference basically serves as the quotes for the next day's articles. Only the Kaimin would provide coverage of the Frank exchange. The I'm a Taxpayer and politicians owe it to me to do what I want them to do, is something that almost always makes me laugh.

Bobby winning that game, and many others, has a significant impact on UM and what people think of UM. Like 1000's and 1000's of times more impact than the several second exchange with a weak reporter at the end of a press conference that almost nobody watches. A few hundred people may not like what Bobby said, but 100's of thousands of people are happy the Griz won and think of UM, with many thinking better of UM.

When a 60 year old mans voice goes up 2 octaves, his hands start flailing in the wind like an inflatable at a car dealership, and he scoffs and huffs like he’s coughing up a hairball, that’s antics and behavior. That’s absolutely a loss of composure if his feeling of disdain becomes a visible reaction. I’m aware he gets along well with Colter, Rainey, Fritz and others and is much different off the stage and away from the lens. Far more people at UM who get paid far less (or not at all) are expected to act much more professional in public than that. As an alum of this university having seen what it’s gone through, and with a university president with a military background who is trying to do everything he can to turn around enrollment and image of this university, it’s just plain unacceptable.

Oh BS. Your view and statement are ridiculous. Who at the university gets interviewed as much as Bobby?

Your initial description is so wrong that I rate it lying. You are being a drama queen. He didn’t lose his composure. He said a few things to Frank and ended the interview.

Hauck’s bringing the Griz back should be respected and respected more, by Frank and by you. Obviously, your education has failed you.

Why don’t you identify yourself? Then we can pass along your criticism to Bobby.Show us you have the balls to back up your statements.

I find your anonymous whining to be unacceptable.

Frank should be ignored from here on out. He’s a nuisance.

Fritz? Where have you been?

Twenty-two years ago in early Sept., 2003, Bill MacIntyre, the late-great owner of Pug Mahon's--the quintessential Irish Pub in Billings--myself, his brother in Butte that we picked up in Butte, and a friend of mine from Billings attended Bobby's very first home game as our head coach, the inaugural game for our new and huge NEZ.

For those of you that remember the game, Div. II North Dakota State, soon to move to 1-AA, beat us, something like 25-24, as Bison Coach Craig Bohl directed a furious and successful 2nd half comeback that ruined the new NEZ and our new HC's debut.

Mac and his brother were excited to be at the game to watch their nephew Shane MacIntyre, one of our starting LB's. After the disappointing loss, the four of us beat feet to The Edgewater for the post-game GSA function with Bobby. As we walked into the room, a guy that I think was from the AD's office, was just outside and to the side of the entrance giving Bobby a little pep talk, knowing our new, young HC was probably going to get some tough questions following this disappointing loss.

So I raised my hand and asked Bobby something like, " Why are we playing our O linemen out of position on the O line ? (G's playing T, T playing G's, and a G playing C. )

Bobby's response, " We have to play our 5 best O lineman," and he went on to say that our O lineman are trained to play more than one position on our O line. And while Bobby answered my question, his blue eyes firmly locked on me and stared intently and fiercely on me--I had the feeling that while he was polite and terse, he really wanted to choke me out had we been the only two in this large conference room !!!

Bobby is a great head coach, and I support him 100 %. I know several of the Haucks, and all are friendly and easy going, but Bobby, at least when I am around him which, granted, is very little, is not that way. I do know that in the past, he would take the sports anchor from KPAX fly fishing, so he doesn't hate all reporters, and he does have a softer, friendlier side. But he is also the son of an old US Marine, and growing up, he learned that Marine Corps discipline from his dad, which has helped make him such a successful coach, and also how to show someone he doesn't like his open hostility towards that individual.

When I heard he was rude to Frank at the post-game press conference, not knowing exactly what happened, the first thought I had is Bobby has some history with Frank and it isn't good. !!!
