Montana/Idaho ESPN2 Coverage Embarrassing For the University and Montana

Points :
Scheduled start time to late and failed to gain much outside interest
Failed to start coverage on time even when the other game covered was a blowout
Continued to miss important plays and never announced them latter
Had no on field coverage (BAD)
The announcers were the bottom for ESPN and it showed
I am sure there other points but the bottom line for me, it was poor job
Idk.
ESPN aside (I didn't think it was that bad not great but not terrible), and the crazy late start, 10:20 EST for me, the game looked pretty good. The crowd showed up for 48 minutes of the game. Wa-Griz looked great. I thought the field looked fantastic. It was also a lot clearer than our regular coverage.

With the ESPN extended time outs, it was far more than 3 hours. It was midnight before we got out of the stadium. The dead time was more than annoying.
Media breaks are no longer on espn than any other broadcast. Were there more of them? It’s highly doubtful but let’s assume two more at 3:00 each. So you had to sit at a college football game on a gorgeous evening in the best environment in America in one of the most beautiful settings in America for 6 extra minutes while the GRIZ got national exposure and you are complaining??

They were actually one minute longer than normal Scripps Sports media timeouts. Most regular ones go about 2:10, end of quarter and 2 minute warning are 3:10, whereas ESPN were 3:05 and 4:10 respectively.

Keep in mind who started this thread, Mr. Sunshine himself.
This is a guy who could find the wrong in any subject matter and is probably the CEO of the anti-puppy league.
He is so full of himself that he would not just claim that he was at the football game in Philly where they booed Santa Claus and he started the chorus.
The only thing I buy in that is that if he were actually there, I would have no problem accepting he led the hate.
There were things wrong with this, but it wasn't nearly terrible. What he is pissed off over is that the game was on too late for his old ass to stay awake through. What is clear in this assessment is that he has nothing concrete he's complaining about, or he would at least offer the criticism of the end of the third quarter. He didn't see it because he was slobbering on the pillow.

Keep in mind that the long gap between the third and fourth quarter was due to the targeting foul review from upstairs.

Total BS. Were you enjoying a gorgeous evening in the best environment in America in one of the most beautiful settings in America or were you sitting on your butt in front of your TV fast forwarding through the dead times? I do have to admit that the game finish at midnight was special.

I watched the whole game on Wally the Bronco's YouTube channel last night. Fast forward though all the shit I didn't need to see. (Mostly when Idaho had the ball.) It took about 45 minutes. I thought the announcers were good. They just couldn't stop praising the entire Wa Griz show and the team. (At one point said, "Montana has taken the starch out of the Idaho defense." after Eli's second TD. And I am also too old to stay up after 9:00!

Well the actual commercials are for MSU, town pump, 😁 and other things....I was talking about the ESPN crew glowing review of UM. I can handle 2 longer games per year, but yeah, if every game was on ESPN would have to record and fast forward.

So what happened to ESPN+??? They seemed to do good broadcasts. Looked for the ESPN+, found UM/UI Women's Volley Ball, watched some...but.....
Here's the schedule and who's doing the broadcasts: https://gogriz.com/sports/football/schedule
Is it really possible that in 2025 there are people who don't actually understand how all this works? I'm honestly not trying to be rude but it's baffling.
