Ty Dieffenbach got knocked out of the Stephen F Austin game on Saturday. Unsure what his status is but without him I don’t think Poly stands a chance.Idaho and EWU screwed that all up
Only hard pick for me this week was Cal Poly and Sac St. I ended up picking CP just because I got a feeling. Both teams pretty unknown still though
Not to knock on the kid's injury, but did they stand a chance otherwise? Hope his injury isn't too bad, but I just don't personally feel that CP was a threat.Ty Dieffenbach got knocked out of the Stephen F Austin game on Saturday. I don’t think they would win this one with him out there, but they’d have a better chance if he was.Not to knock on the kid's injury, but did they stand a chance otherwise? Hope his injury isn't too bad, but I just don't personally feel that CP was a threat.
Sac St is ass this year tho.I don’t think they would win this one with him out there, but they’d have a better chance if he was.
Having watched a couple of their games this year, you're not wrong that right now the team is pretty ass.Sac St is ass this year tho.
Not making one of those claims that I called anything here, but it had the feel of a reverse situation of moving up and getting good players. For example, I heard that Marshall was able to get Randy Moss because they were leaving the SoCon and had a clear path set to do so.Having watched a couple of their games this year, you're not wrong that right now the team is pretty ass.
But one thing that jumps off the screen is that they simply have better athletes across the board than pretty much every other team they've played, including SDSU. When their players get on the same page (which admittedly is kind of rare, still), it looks so effortless. Their guys are just bigger and faster than everyone else.
It's no secret why they're demolishing the rest of the conference in sack numbers (18 in four games). They have DUDES in their front 7, and when they are allowed to pin their ears back, they overwhelm teams.
So yeah, right now, they hardly play as a unit, and it's kind of a mess.
But I am terrified of the possibility they figure it all out before we head down there later next month. I really hope for our sake they don't.
They got Randy when he was kicked out of school and nobody wanted to take a chance on him except Marshall. Not making one of those claims that I called anything here, but it had the feel of a reverse situation of moving up and getting good players. In Sac States case, it feels like they made a promise because the PAC gave them a wink and they thought they had a foot in the door. I don't agree with Texas State going there, but how does Sac State fit in with anyone in that group better?
When you make promises like that, you alienate the group when the promise isn't fulfilled. I think when the portal opens, we are going to see exodus to show the level of discontent. Remember that not only did the NCAA finally limit the free flow of teams moving up, but then Sac State made the sage decision to leave one of the premier conferences is the FCS to become an independent. I think the last time an independent team made the FCS playoffs was 1982. My wish for them is that they find it hard to find a way to fill in their schedule for 2026 and beyond, and I think they will struggle with this when the Big Sky puts out the new 9 game schedule that is pending and most teams have 3 ooc games already in place.
I'm aware of why Marshall got him. What I'm saying is they clinched the deal because they were already going to the MAC. The point though is not about Marshall, it's about what I feel lays ahead for Sac State. They got Randy when he was kicked out of school and nobody wanted to take a chance on him except Marshall.
Same, my pics are wrecked and it's only early afternoon.I hate Idaho State. That is all.
Did you pick against them, lol. I rolled the dice and picked them to win, but it was hard, I was still pretty jaded from the last 2 times they let me down!I hate Idaho State. That is all.
Well first I picked them to win, against my better judgment because they burned me in the past. But then I started doubting my decision. So yesterday I changed my pick to Northern Colorado. And of course NOW Idaho State decides to actually play some decent ball. Maybe UNC will pull it out but I'm not holding my breath.Did you pick against them, lol. BoooI hate Idaho State. That is all.
Wish I did.I knew Poly was gonna beat that trash sac team
