Cat game analysis

I've told other people this recently, but this year's MSU team seems to me like a less talented version of their 2021 team with Matt McKay under center (before Tommy took over). Still pretty good, and may figure it out eventually, but not quite the level they've come to expect over the last 5-6 years.
The Cats, like the Griz, have potential, but they both need to step it up and improve if they are going very far in the playoffs. That being said, at this point, I agree with your post.

Maybe instead of dwelling on what might have been, we should look at could be for Mercyhurst here. Regardless of if they get cleaned up by SDSU or not, I expect they will exit that game at 1-4. Their game against New Haven does not count in the NEC standings, just like Mercyhurst's first year in 2024, New Haven is not playing all of the NEC teams, so their results are not recorded in conference standings, as I suspect will be the case when Chicago State opens shop next year.
So what if Mercyhurst wins against Long Island (1-3), at Wagner (0-4), Duquesne (1-3), Stonehill (1-3), at Saint Francis (0-4 and headed to D-III), Robert Morris (1-3) and at Central Connecticut State (2-2)? All together, that's three D-I wins for the entire NEC and one of those was an NEC game where CCSU won over Saint Francis. If Marist ran the table, they would be 8-4, all dressed up and no place to go because they aren't playoff eligible so the runner up from the NEC would get the bid.
No one wants Bozeman to lose as bad as I do every week but imagine the impact on the BSC if they or Sac State had lost to that. There is no doubt in my mind that Mercyhurst is a bad team from the worst conference in D-I that ends up being a free pass to the round of 16 for a CAA team that didn't deserve a home game in too many years. They are not the worst, or near team in FCS, but they are bad enough that it would have had a negative impact on the entire BSC.

This guy FCSses.

NDSU is not as dominant as they once were, their QB can be flustered and makes poor decisions, their defense isn't as formidable. The Citadel is a horrible Southern Conference team. They went 0-11 two years ago. NDSU won't be tested until 9/27, 10/4, and 10/25. We will know more how good NDSU is after 10/25.

And yes, the Missouri Valley is wide open compared to previous years. IMO, this year, UND, NDSU, SDSU, USD, and Illinois State all have a chance to win the conference. For the MVFC, that's as wide-open as it's ever been in the last 10 years.
Did this age well? That was a post from September 1, 2025

My interest in the scat game was WHEN Davis was going to show up. First series, no. Second series, there he was. Vigen has no scruples(a unit of weight equal to 20 grains, used by apothecaries), and very little personality. What school, in search of a Head Coach, would hire him?

I thought the Cats would look better. Did you expect the Cat backs to have almost no yards? Idaho lost to Oregon 14-24 a year ago.
I thought the Griz would look better against the Cats when we played them at home. That loss cost the Missoula business community millions. Sam would have had a field day with our secondary.
