Hello everyone,

I am Joey’s sister, currently I am trying to retire his jersey number at his high school as he did a lot for the school (breaking records and returning as a coach after UM) and became a local fire fighter. As many of you know he passed away last November (2024). This is something I have been wanting to do for him as his name is still talked about even a decade later at the school. Please help make this happen by signing and sharing this petition. He treasured his time in Montana and loved the community, so please Montana I need your help!

Thank you for bringing this on, and my deepest sympathy for your loss, this is the first I have heard of it. I will always remember him running into the endzone against North Dakota State to win that game in 2015. I am happy to sign this petition in support of Joey and wish you and your family well. 🙏

Done…I went to school at the same time as Joey. Randomly ate with him at the food zoo once, I enjoyed our conversation. One of my favorite memories was him running that touchdown in for the in against NDSU and yelling “Griz BANG!”on camera a couple times….still use the phrase myself this day.

Thank you for reaching out! Condolences for your loss and my thoughts are with your family.
