New KPAX TV Announcers for Griz

I don't know if Griz fans understand (I know they don't care) how much Marty was despised by visiting team fans. I don't know how y'all listened to that for 8 home games per year.

With joy in our hearts. (kidding). Opinion on him was really split, but I loved it. He was different, but he was genuinely himself. Marty is a Montana legend, and I enjoyed listening to him every week.

So, if you can speak for ALL the visiting team fans, I can say, no we don't give a damn what you think. I miss Marty after only 2 games.
Aside from that, we don't play 8 home games a year, that is unprecedented at the FCS level. The TV announcers are hired by Scripps sports for at least nine of Montana's games this year, so they will call all of those games including the games at Idaho State, at Portland State and at Weber State.
The Idaho game and at Sac State are up to ESPN and the Brawl might use a different crew as well, but since it is in Missoula, I would like to see them use Trey and Jordan along with the bozo throw in. In recent years, they've used a different play by play guy, and since I refuse to watch that team in any game but one each year, I don't know if it's their regular Scripps play by play guy or not.
Maybe we should look at bringing in Marty just for that one game since you have scooped the idea he would be despised by the visitors.

Haven't they had the brawl called by one from each school's announce teams? I remember I had to be gone last time it was in Missoula, and it was Gregorak and Marty on the mics.

There are one each on the color commentary, yes. I am speaking to the play by play announcer and I think the last time it was in Missoula they used a bozeman guy, or at least the sports anchor from Billings, which is just as bad IMO.

I agree, you can like both. Mick was a good dude, he did fantastic interviews, but I hated his play by play when he would tell you at the start it was a second and 7 on the Montana 43, then the QB was scrambling at the opponents 35 and completes a 12 yard pass to set up 4th and 2 on the 38.
That is a bit over the edge, but I am sure most of you can recall something along those lines where you just had to ask yourself what the hell just happened.
We have what we have at the end of the day, so we just have to live with it like it or not. I don't see anyone coming to egriz and asking what we want on any subject where it will affect what happens on any subject.
 
They generally seem to always go with the "more skilled" play by play guy from either school in the brawl every year, outside the Root Sports years.
Would not be shocked at all if Trey Bender takes over as the guy this year.

When did Marty ever do play by play? He was the color guy whenever I was watching. Sure you're not describing the (horrible) work of Jay Kohn?

No, not Marty, Mick did that a lot on the radio, but I always enjoyed his pregame interviews with the coach. Kohn was bad though for sure, he's the one we needed to trade out ultimately.
