The Refs

Last play of the 1st half refs called an Offensive PI on ND in the endzone which was what it was.
Not called very often but called correctly at a crItical moment.

If the refs had called Defensive PI we might have lost.

Tough to give kudos to the zebras but they deserved it.

Yep. UND makes their first extra point, the game is tied at the end. If UND kicks a field goal on 4th and 3 in Griz territory up 16-7 to go up 19-7, they might win. Instead, the Griz D got a huge stop. If Ah Yat hits Bohannon in stride earlier in the game when he was wiiiiide open behind the D like Davis was in his game winner, the game looks different. Tough breaks but UND had all the chances in the world to put the game out of reach and they didn’t.

Kind of no win for officials. Just watched A&M score on 4th and goal from the 12 vs Notre Dame and win the game. One of their interior lineman literally tackled a ND pass rusher 30 feet from the referee on the score and no flag. In South Bend. And ND missed the PAT on the go ahead TD. What can you say but "that's football".

Please don’t say “we”. We real Griz fans watched a very physical, highly competitive football game that was determined by home field advantage and 4th quarter momentum. UND beat us last year in a similar fashion. Referees get way too much credit/blame. They call a football game by what they see. I believe “we” can officially put a lid on this conversation.
 
I agree that Montana loses without the refs. Very controversial and I have always cheered and supported Montana U & Montana St. But calls just don't happen like that. Go ahead. Call me a schmuck or whatever. Officials making calls like that to determine an outcome. Bad. Almost 80 and that was the worst I can remember.

Are you suggesting that officials should not call penalties because god forbid it may effect the outcome of the game? When does it fall on the players committing a penalty that may effect the outcome of a game?

The calls were good and necessary. Either learn the game or watch it. You obviously don't know the rules. Do you want to debate specific calls?

Good post. I was thinking the exact same thing. Yes, the Griz don't win this game without the refs calling most of the penalties that needed to be called and had impacted the particular play. Ha.

That poster appears not to have a clue.
 
There was a crap ton of no calls that went both ways. However that last play with Loud shutting down their receiver, easily could have been called a PI. Would it have mattered though? Probably not. Wasn't much time left. But, maybe.

Refs at this level are always bad and inconsistent. At least the penalties were pretty even.

Maybe the ref gave Loud a "make up" call.
 
Big Sky officials overall are pretty good. Every game at every level have tough calls. I guarantee that these guys never try to screw one team or another.
