Current Griz in pro football

I didn't even know there was an indoor league any more and had to look this up, but Forbes plays for Fishers Freight. That's Fishers, IN. Never heard of that either, it's on the Northeast side of Indy.
Theres actually several indoor and areana leagues I believe. I know arena has at least 2 and i think indoor is the same.

I had forgotten the name, I follow Forbes on Twitter so I always see some stuff about his IFL career, he is doing very well it seems like

I get his posts as well and he does play breakdowns occasionally through a couple different pages. To me it seems like he has an interest and could also be a future coach in the making.

Wow, I feel like I'm living a sheltered life all of a sudden, I thought both leagues folded and that was that. At one point, the wisdom of the Army and all, my wife and I were stationed at Fort Bragg, NC and Fort Jackson, SC a couple of hours apart, so we would travel to spend weekends together. There was an Arena2 team in Fayetteville, the Cape Fear Wildcats that we would go see a lot. It's a fun game to watch if you're there, but I could never watch it on TV.

So im guessing you had no idea that Dalton Snead was the starting QB of the last two IFL champions, 2 different teams even. He was the game mvp for one of them . Unfortunately this year his team lost a heartbreaker 48-49 in the first round of the playoffs.

Wow, no idea. I didn't follow it that much at all, like I said, just a game that is way better live and I thought it had gone away. It's like football with CFL motion rules meets hockey - very fast paced, but to me it just isn't made for television. The last game I went to was the San Antonio Gunslingers a few years back and I thought they had gone away, but I looked them up and they came back again in 2024. If I had known they had a team back, I probably would have gone to a couple of games. Maybe next year, but we are hoping to be moving back to Montana.

Agreed, a lot of fun in person which doesn't quite translate to tv unless you have an interest in the team/player.

Agreed. kind of hard watch on TV. As well, no safety protocols and kind of a mess from a playing perspective, actually. It is a classic last ditch option for guys who still want to play, I guess. No real NFL channel, however. Their best bet is to possibly get a UFL opportunity and then hope that may turn into another elevated special teams opportunity or something. The linemen in the indoor leagues really don't move around much or have any room to accomplish anything. Kind of a diminished roll they have given the linemen. Overall, the leagues seem a bit injury riddled for running back and receiver types. I like that they are trying something, but not sure it is the type of product to really get behind. I would say the most accomplished player in the last three years, however, has been Dalton Sneed. Hard to do anymore then he has done with the indoor league opportunity. Totally crushing it. If anyone could or should get an NFL shot out of indoor football, it would be Dalton. Not even a close second from an impact standpoint in the last three years. So, if he does not get a shot, not really sure who would anymore.

One of the two guards can report as eligible, at least in the arena league when I watched it. Typically, one of them reports but they are more like the last check down option and they don't get many targets unless it's around the goal line. I don't imagine the surfaces have changed either, they were on the old carpet and that is a very hard surface, so injuries are very common for sure and then there are the boards, which is where I compare it to hockey. Where the defender in regular football uses the sideline as that extra defender, they use the boards as much as possible and you correct, there are no rules in place like the NHL boarding rule even.
It would be fantastic to see Dalton get a tryout shot, even if it's just the UFL at this point.

This is kind of how I feel about baseball. I like to go to minor league games in person but watching on TV is a snooze fest for me.
The key is to record the game so you can fast forward through the commercials and dead time. Even watching a Griz game in real time sucks with all the commercial time outs.

Killing itself? Ha! MLB is setting attendance and revenue records this year. Try to catch up.
Try to stay current ... MLB is down significantly over the last 10 years. While they have seen big increase over last year they have continued to struggle getting a new audience and maintaining a current viewership. All caught up!

With the recent rule changes (i.e. pitch clock), the pace of play has sped up to a level where I find baseball more entertaining. Gone are the 4 hour games and back in are the 2 - 2.5 hour games. MLB could use some Banana Ball type stunts but hey, MLB is the major leagues and the league is serious business.
