Roster Changes

I was checking the roster on gogriz.com a couple of days ago, and noticed some names have been removed. I believe the departures of RB Wilson V, Owen Reynolds, and Grant Glasgow were noted after Spring ball. The names below were no longer on the roster. I also recall seeing discussion about DJ Peevy deciding not to join the Griz.

Brendan Murphy
Jaxon Tucker
Brayton Boyer
Michael Ray
Dylan Cohen
Chase McGurran
Joseph Grezmak
Joe Weida
Dayton Toney
Sam Alford
Braunsen Henriksen (added 8/20)

A couple of other changes -
Tanner Huff has moved from CB to safety.
Grady Walker is listed as a WR. I think he was previously an athlete, and I thought he was playing LB during spring.

I apologize if this is duplicate information, and, as we know, the online roster is sometimes not accurate before pre-fall starts.

Not related to this but if you have instagram and follow some of the players, the transfers we got after spring have been posting pictures from the photo shoot of their new numbers and even some of the guys from last year are changing numbers
 
Thanks for posting. I recognize a few of the names and like mthoops, I don't like seeing them depart either but this is high-level FCS football program. If they transfer, I wish them the best in their future careers. If they stay at Montana, I wish them the best in their future careers and hope they continue to cheer on their former teammates and graduate a Griz!

He had some injuries. I think he graduated early from high school and at UM so a smart academically motivated kid. Probably saw the group of transfers and saw playing playing time would be tougher. My guess is that when he decided to transfer and I wouldn’t be surprised if Griz coaches reached out to Shann Schlinger on this.

Shann had a rough first year in Bismarck. I would like to see him succeed there.

Sometimes a fresh start somewhere is just what a guy needs. Having seen him in practices for years the talent is there - unfortunately the injury bug / bad luck was too. I think two fall camps in a row he suffered some pretty severe leg injury and then this spring he was in the recovery group the whole time, again with his leg wrapped/protected. If he can stay healthy he'll succeed on the field and I'd bet be an attractive transfer at this level I'd bet, I hope it works out!

Good point on transfer potential, if he stays healthy and has a great year, definitely possibility of transferring back up in the future if he chooses.
 
Always interesting to see in these days of lots of transfers.

I haven't followed what happened with some of the rumored high star DL transfers. Did they come, or not? I see that the Carroll and Minnesota guys are on roster. And the touted JC guy, Pifferini, who came for winter conditioning.

Beston, the U Mary corner, is now no. 9. He seems to have nice potential, as do others.

I think I counted 22 OL.

No receiver on roster coach yet.
