Coulter mentioned that a new WR coach has been hired. Surely one of you with inside knowledge could make us aware of this TOP SECRET pick.

If you want the scoop, pony up the cash for the QB Club. That is where you find out information first. Nobody would risk getting booted from that or betraying the trust of a friend who shared information with them by running to Egriz and publicly posting things that are said in confidence.

I don't know much about Bobby Kennedy but after doing some research, I like this hire and think he's the right hire at the right time to develop the young breakout talent and the incoming and returning veterans. If I was a wide receiver with the Griz today, I would be jumping up and down in excitement.

Bobby Kennedy’s coaching style is an excellent fit with Montana’s current wide receiver group and offensive philosophy. Let’s break it down:

Kennedy’s Coaching Style
  • Technical Precision: He emphasizes route running, footwork, and catching mechanics, ideal for developing Montana’s relatively young and veteran WR corps (e.g. Drew Deck).
  • Versatility Training: Kennedy has coached players across multiple positions and systems, which aligns well with Montana’s use of hybrid athletes like Michael Wortham and Monte Gillman.
  • Developmental Focus: Known for elevating under-the-radar talent, which suits Montana’s roster full of breakout candidates (e.g., Brooks Davis, Lekeldrick Bridges, Cameron Gurnsey, Korbin Hendrix, Jammel Ward, Bridger Smith).
Fit with Montana’s Offensive Scheme

Montana’s offense under Brent Pease and Bobby Hauck is:
  • Run-Heavy with Play-Action: Requires WRs who can block and sell routes, Kennedy’s fundamentals-first approach ensures that.
  • Multiple and Tempo-Based: Demands WRs who can rotate and adapt quickly; Kennedy’s conditioning and mental prep help players thrive in fast-paced systems.
  • Depth-Oriented: With many WRs vying for snaps, Kennedy’s ability to build readiness across the depth chart is crucial.
Synergy with Current WRs
  • Michael Wortham: Kennedy’s experience with versatile athletes will help maximize Wortham’s hybrid skill set.
  • Korbin Hendrix & Blake Bohannon: Kennedy’s work with big-bodied receivers (like Reggie Williams and Simi Fehoko) translates well to Hendrix’s and Bohannon’s profiles.
  • Brooks Davis, Bridger Smith, & Jammel Ward: Young receivers benefit from Kennedy’s developmental rigor and attention to detail.
Strategic Impact

Kennedy’s coaching will likely:
  • Improve route timing and separation, aiding Montana’s QB development.
  • Enhance blocking and physicality, supporting the run game.
  • Build depth and reliability, crucial for a team replacing its top five pass catchers from 2024.

A really surprise pick. Has the best background for our WR needs based upon report from Colter. Its hard to believe this caliber of WR coach is available at this late date. Are we lucky, God blessed or are the stars aligned for the Griz in 2025? I, truly, hope he has an immediate strategic impact on our team as suggested above. I'm not concerned about his limited FCS coaching experience. His FBS coaching experience will benefit our team.

Probably just lucky circumstances if he was part of the coaching change at Rice at the end of the season.

At the this time of the year, it’s a good hire. He is very experienced. Typically route by Bobby to go with an older coach.

So we have to find this out from Skyline Sports. At least we have a good reporter doing a great job for the fans. Unfortunately I can't say that about the university.
