Griz QB? What's shaping up so far?

Agree, but think Jensen as the leader in clubhouse is bit of an exaggeration.

KAY'S time with the program matters with his teammates...
I'm a big fan of KAY and think this will be his breakout year but time with the program doesn't matter at all unless it's an even competition. It's all about results and the QB that will give the team the best chance to win. The players KNOW who executes and gives them the best chance to win.

Jensen took the majority of first team reps in the Spring while Ah Yat was out with a minor injury. Because of that, I have to think Jensen is the slight leader in the clubhouse. Not the most mobile guy but I was impressed by his arm in the spring game.

I like many others would love for Ah Yat to take the job and flourish but I’m just not sold yet. I hope he does but we need to see some major growth from him this year. We’ll see what he can do in Fall camp.

I also won’t be surprised if Wortham is taking half the snaps at QB by the time we’re halfway through the season. He’s definitely gonna be our plus one run game guy. Dudes a huge weapon.
I just hope we don't overuse Wortham @ QB and get him hurt behind center. I agree he has tremendous talent and speed, but what he doesn't have is size--5-9, 177 pounds. So my hope is we use him in some wildcat but mainly in the slot and KR and PR.

Client of mine filmed an NIL commercial with Ah Yat (stay tuned on that, we will run it on ESPN and Skyline) and his takeaways were that Ah Yat seemed mature, confident and eager to compete.
I wasn't a big Ah Tat fan last year--too inconsistent, but I admired the kid's work ethic--while he was erratic at times, there was no lack of effort: Keali'i left it all on the field.

I am hoping with the added year of experience, studying film, and getting bigger and stronger in the weight room, we will see a significant improvement in his play this fall, especially throwing the ball. He is already a tough, fast runner !!!

I was surprised at the pictures I saw of him during spring ball. He seemed to have packed on quite a bit of muscle.

Wortham played a ton at QB last year at ewoooo. He good back there.

That said, I agree it should be only as a change of pace/+1 kind of deal. If he's our qb1....yikes.

All true. But, one of them actually has some results. The other has zero.

Again - saying Jensen is leading the locker room right now is simply exaggerated if not outright wrong.

But, is Jensen better than Sneed? Inquiring minds want to know.

We are probably about to find out. I would settle for as good as Dalton, who was always a threat to run with decent size and good speed and had a live arm, with one caveat: unlike during Dalton's tenure, under Jake's, we beat The Shi__y Kitties 😸 !!!

I personally don't have alot of confidence in AhYat especially his performance late in the season and in particular the PSU game, so I'd like to see what Jensen can do after being coached by who many consider to be the QB guru of CFB for the last few years. As some have said he looked really good in the Spring game.

I'll be more then happy if AhYat proves me wrong and turns into the QB many think can be, but he needs to prove it. And most importantly hope he can stay healthy.

He was 7-9 passing, 36-313 rushing, and 25-209 receiving last season. 12 games.
I would hope they have a few packages for him, but don't overuse him at the position. He's way to valuable in other ways. We have no Junior Bergen this year and he's the guy in that position now. Fly sweeps, punt returns, kick returns, screens to flat, and deep routes, and some slants. Is that asking for too much? Just keep him healthy.

Between, Ah Yat, Jensen and Flowers, I think the QB position is covered. Most of our game is gonna be running the ball, anyway. We need a QB who can manage the game around that.

With over 20% of his snaps coming at QB (per Ace’s show). Hence my comments above.
Maybe 20% of his snaps, but far from 20% of the teams snaps. Visperas and Taylor played a majority of the snaps at QB. I would wager that his QB snaps was closer to 5% than 20% of the team snaps.
