New KPAX TV Announcers for Griz

If you fellas like espn type broadcasters then well aboard. On the other hand if you like real people like Marty I guess we can turn down the volume. If I wanted ESPN broadcasters then we need to be FBS which we are just JV.

Can you translate this into English?
My newly implanted AI translation chip is booting....'Mode initiating: Bzzz, Zip, Blork.......Now, initial translation based on available data: '
"If you fellas like espn(ESPN-) type broadcasters then wel(come) aboard. On the other(,) hand if you like real people(,) like Marty(,) I guess we can turn down the volume. If I wanted ESPN broadcasters then we need to be FBS(,) (of)which we are (currently) just JV."

There, it must have been the old English Teacher inside of me trying to get out, like the newborn Xenomorph in the movie 'Alien.'
I still like Marty. He's real.

I still like Marty, He's real.
Thanks for translating! Agree, Marty is real. I liked him too. I just wished he didn't try so hard, to a fault, to look impartial.

Trey Bender is a step up from Marty. It's like going from Jordan to Missoula. Both places are great, in their own right, but Missoula is a step up in terms of refinement, not that that's always the best thing.

I like 'homers.' I loved listening to Mick Holien and his '-isms.' Some of you posters listed some of his all time greats. That was like 'homecoming' for me. The feeling I had, and still have, when driving down Montana 200 between Johnsrud Park and Bonner.

The voice of the Griz is supposed to be a homer, And we still have Riley for that. The TV crew is supposed to be a little more objective.

Ya, Bender knows more about football and Griz football than Marty too. And how many years did Bender coach in the NFL?

One upgrade, one probably a down grade but I’ll w/hold judgment on just how far down he’ll be till I hear him.
I think Tripp will be good. Marty had good analysis but we’ll all miss him for his one liners and off the wall comments. He’s kind of like Joe Cravens in Basketball. Tripp will have good analysis, he just won’t be funny.

:ROFLMAO:Comparing Jordan(MT) to Missoula. Been through there many times, Jordan, that is. Friendly town, literally in the 'middle of nowwhere.' Stopped in town to visit a friend working at the Nursing Home/MAF. We stopped at THE Bar, or one of them, because of the collection of caps it had, hanging from the walls/rafters. Amazing! Seems that back in '96, during the Montana Freemen standoff outside of Jordan, there was considerable interest in TV coverage, as well as Federal Law Enforcement 'coverage' of the events during this time. Where the hell do all these people stay for this 81 day sideshow. The Feds and their counterparts stayed at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. Where the media stayed is the wonder. The alphabet soup of organizations, media and Law Enforcement, had to live, eat, drink, and cavort in this town of 356(todays census), Square Area of 0.3 miles, the crown jewel and County Seat of Garfield County.

Jordan, for those of you without this exposure, is 129 miles east of Lewistown, 182 miles to Malta, 66 miles to Circle, 115 miles to Glendive, and 84 miles to Miles City. While in this Bar, I bought a tee-shirt which showed a highway sign which read, "End of the Earth -- 10 miles, Jordan, MT 20 miles." Anyway, back to the caps. All these organizations had their official baseball cap headwear, including FoxNews, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FBI, Treasury Dept, etc., etc. Seems the Bar owner would trade a drink for one of the caps. One shitload of caps! Amazing collection! All in all, this 'standoff' was a boon to the local economy. If you get a chance, stop if Jordan, get some gas, get some food, and see the collection(s).(y)Well worth the stop.

I knew some of the reporters that covered the Freemen. They rented rooms with ranchers in the area.

I like Jordan. Matter of fact I like all of eastern Montana. There's not many towns in eastern Montana I have not been. The people are real and about as friendly as they come any were in America. You could throw most of the people out of western Montana and replace them with people from there we would be good to go. Mick can translate for you city folk in case you need help understanding.

Same here. I love driving through eastern Montana and staying in the towns. I don't drive the interstate anymore and instead drive the Hi-Line, 200, or 12. The people in western Minnesota remind me of the people in eastern Montana - hard-working, friendly, real, and the kindest people you could meet.

My impression too when I was at UM during terms while attending. At that time eastern Montana, Minnesota and other eastern states were welcoming people. I was an out of stater who mostly drove to UM and home. I flew some but mostly drove.
