Sac State's FBS Waiver is likely denied

The percentage of sports fans who care about Cross Country: .00000028%

The percentage of sports fans who even knows nau has a cross country team: .00000000061%.

The percentage who knows they won a title: .000000000000000000059%
Yet, it is still 6 titles in 8 years in the Men's sport most competed at in DI after basketball. Regular top 100 Director's Cup finishes. Yet the claim was only Montana is serious about sports in the Big Sky. LMAO

That was the whole sales pitch to get Brennan Marion and Mike Bibby to come there. You watch, with any kind of success this year Marion is gone to a bigger job.
Actually was contemplating putting in a FOIA to see Marion's contract, specifically to see if there's an opt out clause if Sac doesn't get to the FBS in a certain number of months/years.....

That is a great idea. I'd be really curious as well.

Do you have any sense on the recruiting pitches to all those FBS drop downs? Did they come in with some level of assurance that they would be going FBS?

Correct - and the only Big Sky School to win a Full NCAA Division I (not subdivision) National Championship is in fact, NAU (6 to be exact). An FCS title is great, but it still doesn't make you a top 25 Division I football school.
So geography helped you then.

I heard the Trinity League is looking to add a California team for Mater Dei and St. John Bosco to beat up on.

Ok so I'm not really one to talk what with EWU completely in the gutter (actually, I'd take being in the gutter over where we're at right now), but it's kind of entertaining watching this all blow up in Sac State's face.

Meanwhile, their cross-town rivals UC Davis are taking a much more subtle (and smarter) approach that IMO is far more likely to position themselves to an FBS invite. Apparently Villanova before the Big East dropped football they pretty much had an open invitation to join the conference as FBS if they ever wanted to move up, and I could see a similar thing happening with the Mountain West for UC Davis in the future.

In the meantime, the BSC should react like a husband who catches his wife in bed with another guy(or gal), and throw Sac State the hell out of the BSC IMMEDIATELY. Cut them off!

I gotta admit, they knew what they want, and went for it. What chutzpah!
