Sac State's FBS Waiver is likely denied

Wonder how many of those transfer kids are going to sit out the year to preserve eligibility? The pitch to get them there was very obviously "we are going to the FBS and will be in the PAC-WHATEVER, come here and get in on the ground floor."

If my memory is correct, even their outrageously high NIL commitment numbers and stadium donations they touted were conditional.

That was the whole sales pitch to get Brennan Marion and Mike Bibby to come there. You watch, with any kind of success this year Marion is gone to a bigger job.

I wonder too if this will affect the recruits that came aboard thinking FBS was coming next year.
Also how will it impact donations? Will they even begin on the new stadium.
Lastly just overall excitement from players, fans, and city.

All this said it could still happen.

I just don’t know how they keep pulling in all these kids I see they have got another kid today they have the 32nd best class for 2026 so far and the #1 class for 2027

Where is all the comment from those SAC'S who seem to show up on this forum? No response? This article is just speculation and right now it is meaningless.

Sounds like we should have an answer within the next couple of weeks, normally by July 1st. This will be interesting to see.

I don't follow Liberty much, but does anyone have a sense of how the NCAA felt about having them jump up and go independent? I wasn't following the news around their move.

Oh don’t worry they’ll be decommitting soon now that their FBS dreams looked dashed.
These kids already have other FBS offers, but still pick SAC tho. Big bummer to not get the recommendation, but the final call will be next week. FCS ranks better hope SACs get approved and have to play a lame duck season. Or, there’s gonna be a supremely pissed of bunch of Hornets with something to prove in 2025.
