Utah Safety Jeilani Davis Commits

You're totally not wrong that it happens, much like an FCS team can occasionally upset an FBS team in an outlier game, but the overall record is pretty stark.

They are 34-5 vs Frontier Conference teams since the 1980's, and 2 out of those 5 losses were against the Carroll teams in 03 and 04 that could be considered the best NAIA teams of all time. Drop those out, and it is 34-3.

While outliers can happen, Central Washington does crush the Frontier Conference over and over and over. The level of play and the size just isn't the same.

The last time Weber played Western, they won 76-0.

The conversation goes back to Oldngrizzly claiming that the Griz should be scheduling a Montana NAIA team to play every single year. Which is still dumb to even ponder.

Cats also got an interesting transfer in George Helms. He is an Elon transfer...but he's from Big Sky, Montana. He went to a prep school in Florida before then landing at Elon and then making his way back to Montana. He was a good Class C player but have no idea how good he is now.

I've wondered quite a bit if that's a path for Montana kids, especially in basketball. Not necessarily just prep schools, but also junior colleges. You saw Seth Amunrud from Manhattan Christian go from Class C to Dawson CC before making his way back to Montana State.

We saw this with Raequan Evans where he went to North Idaho JC and many thought he was fast-tracking to the Griz before Larry Krystkowiak offered him and his recruiting blew up. He ended up at Florida State.

I know that Montana kids are often "under developed" even though they have wonderful potential. Seems like so many kids who go out of state for a year or two and develop eventually find their way back to the level and the program they want to be at. Interesting to me more Montana kids don't try the JC route.
I 'd say it depends on the JUCO they land in, but overall, I would agree with you.
