SI Big Sky Conference Preview

I just think that outside of Eli, Rocker is very mid, and Fonoti is basically unknown getting buoyed by a half of football against a scrub team.
Don't most backs do better against the less talented defenses? I mean, the jury is still out on Rocker but, TBF, Eli had just 69 yards on 12 carries against Weber, and just 39 in 12 carries against UNC, followed by 17 in 11 carries against Cal Poly and 21 in 8 carries against Davis. Those aren't exactly powerhouses...

Most backs, not necessarily. As for your other point, is that an Eli issue or an OL issue?

The quality play/blocking of the OL absolutely matters for getting the most out of your running backs.
Think you are missing the point (and possibly the joke too which I will just let die instead of trying to redeem because it was not very good anyway).
The question is about the talent of the individual RBs only. Take the rest out of the equation, or maybe pretend like we swap RBs. Don’t you see? Our RBs are arguably better in spite of a lackluster OL or scheme. That means they are better individually.
I’m taking Eli over Jones all day.
Their #2 guy may be better than Rocker but their #2 guy is injury prone. So, that’s a push.
Not even sure who their #3 guy is, so I would take Fonoti. Maybe that’s me being biased but it’s close, possibly another push.
Net result: Griz have better RBs despite not being as good at OL or having a favorable running scheme

I agree and think Fonoti will break out.

Not an acceptable take to many here, but I believe Griz fans overestimate the running back group.
Mmmm I don't know about that. Rocker had his moments and Fonoti had a couple too, albeit against a not so great team. I think honestly, and I am gonna get super-trolled for this, but I think Fonoti could be the best back on the team, production-wise. I am probably wrong, but I have followed him pretty closely, and that kid is H-U-N-G-R-Y for the ball. I don't think Eli has been, or will be getting the touches he needs to be as productive as he was his freshman year. He certainly wasn't last year. Yeah, I know the argument, he was an unknown commodity that became known. Now, onto troll time annnnd go:

Bigger question is do we or will we have a championship caliber quarterback? We know the running back room is good!
That's funny. Truly. I feel very confident as a non-egriz superfan with all the connections to the team, but I do know the game well enough, and follow the Griz and other teams enough to know that the Griz do NOT have a championship caliber QB, and never will under Bobby's QB by committee approach to the position.
