Cool to see Botner and Detrick representing the Griz!
Things to keep in mind, The Bsky is stupid, and I wouldn’t put it past them to list Rex as a LB, even though it’s his brother Porter that has historically played LB. Rex also could have switched positions. The 3 things I find most interesting about this list:
-Rex Connors moving from S to LB
(Are scouts telling him/Davis this is his path the the NFL?)
-7 O linmen
-7 D linemen
(The emphasis on the trenches is real)
Modern defenses often have guys playing that don’t fit defined positions. If you have a stud you line him up all over. Agree 100% on O Lineman. But NDSU has been dominate for years and I would say O Line was #1 reason. I asked a high school coach from ND once why he thought that they had so much success. He said #1 was their strength coach and #2 was the way they recruited and treated O Lineman. They are not hidden. They get interviewed after games. They show the NFL successes etc.. they are on posters around town. They have a kinda a following around Fargo. That was just his take.Things to keep in mind, The Bsky is stupid, and I wouldn’t put it past them to list Rex as a LB, even though it’s his brother Porter that has historically played LB. Linemen are always overshadowed by skill positions in both media and by fans. This is the rare occasion coaches can make the point to give linemen some attention, rightfully so.
It's because none of the skill players stay long enough to earn the honor. lolThe 3 things I find most interesting about this list:
