The bubs are going with a qb that couldn't start at putrid Stanford one of the worst teams in the country? Atleast our guy came from USC a decent program.
I think the Stanford transfer to the Cats looks like he has good potential and has some experience, including 4 starts. I wouldn't put him down. "During the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the Cardinal, Lamson appeared in 23 games and made four starts. As a junior, he completed 38 of 88 passes for 504 yards and two interceptions while carrying the ball 120 times for 334 yards and five touchdowns. He led Stanford in carries and rushing touchdowns."

Pretty sure this is exactly what the scats are looking for in a “QB”.

If the next qb. for the bobcats can be half as good as tommy mellot was, I'm pretty sure the bobcats will be o.k. with that.

Would you take a qb. That was.

A- three time all conference player, at qb.

B- Waler payton award winner.

C- he finished his career with a 55-8 td.to Int. ratio..

Anyone else fascinated by these bub fans? They're constantly beating their chests about how great their engineering program is, as if they're MIfuckingT.

But their graduates can neither design a building to withstand a light snow load -- cause who could have forseeen that need in Montana --, or figure out after 17 years how to use the quote feature on a website that the average 3rd grader could not only use but write the code for.

Perfect fit.I take back that 100 for an ass kicking and raise it to 200.

Over 4 years of playing college football this guy has 4 touchdowns to 4 interceptions and under 50% completion percentage.

It’s not like Stanford is in the Big 10 or SEC either. The ACC is the fourth best conference by a long shot. Ivy would be the FCS comp to the ACC. The Missouri Valley Big 10 and Big Sky is the SEC of the FCS.

If I was a QB, I wouldn't want to go to MSU. There is no proof they develop their quarterback. Instead, there is proof they find the talent but DON"T develop them.

Just more proof of stupid shit that people post looking for for acceptance by the circle jerk squad over here.

Mellotts numbers.. i will start with soph year since it was his first year full time starter at qb.

Soph...61.0% comp.rate..1,698 passing yards...10 tds, 4 ints.

Jr. Year ..63.0% comp. rate...1,068 passing yards ... 10 tds, 2 ints..

Sr.year..67.8% comp.rate ..2,783 passing yards.. 31 tds, 2 ints..into..

Walter payton award winner following his sr. year playing qb. for the bobcats.

How is that for proof?..

Nice.

So essentially what you're saying is that the best qb in bub history put up Jordy Johnson numbers during his senior year.

I mean, no shame in that. JJ is one of the best QBs in bsc history. Of course I'm not sure he is in UM's top ten. But really, it would be unfair to compare the best in bubland to the top 10 or 12 QBs for the GRIZ

You're the one saying he is the best in bobcat history, I've never said that.

Why bring up jordy johnson? That's random.

With those numbers, the Walter Payton Award has lost its luster.

This is what a true QB Walter Payton Award winner stats should look like:

Dickenson still holds a number of records at Montana. Career records of 13,486 passing yards. 116 passing touchdowns. 813 completions. 68.7 completion percentage. All Montana records. 7.9 percent of passes for touchdowns and 9.2 yards per attempt. Those aren’t just Montana records, they are also FCS national records. In four playoff games in 1995, Dickenson threw for 1,500 yards and 13 touchdowns, bringing his totals at the end of the season to 5,676 and 51, respectively.

You said the bobcats don't help develop qbs. I proved you wrong... take the L...

They don't develop QBs. That's what I was trying to show with Dave Dickenson's numbers. Proof the Bobcat coaches developed Tommy Mellot would be Mellot throwing for 5,000+ yards and 50+ touchdowns with a completion percentage over 70%. The numbers you posted are not proof the Bobcat coaches did anything except watch Tommy Mellot improve himself.
