BW's generally worthless guess at a depth chart

Good stuff, fun to look at all the new faces we'll cheer on this fall.

A few additions I'd make:

buehler will factor in on the other line this year, he was consistently listed on the 2 deep on the o line last season. A year of bulking and weight / and agility work and he'll be ready.

On the d linemen, I think we'll see Mason solidly on the 2 deep or starting... he factored in significantly down the stretch with a ton of reps.

Issac keim is on my list as break out players... still listed at TE but I've heard they love him at DE.

Who else will be a breakout player this season?!
Issac Keim is a dude. Watching fall camp, I couldn't believe he was a freshman. Size, speed, and strength were extremely impressive.

How is everyone feeling about the squad compared to this time last year? I had high hopes going into last season and was surprised how it went. "Fool's gold type season". Again, I'm cautiously optimistic wanting to trend to excitement level "midnight". It seems like transfer recruiting went well, I guess you hope they "hit" and pan out, play together as a team more than last year? It sure seems like a lot of pieces are there for the upcoming season.

The title says it all - here's my guess / look at where the depth could shake out.

QB: Ah Yat / Jensen
RB: Gillman / Fonoti OR Rocker
TE: Olson OR Gale / Rohrer
WR: Wortham / Deck OR Gillman
WR: Hendrix / Finch
WR: Bridges / Davis
T: Panfiloff / Henricksen
T: Bowen / Amick
G: Brown / Hilden
G: Johnson / Ray
C: Frietas / Cohen

DE: Peevy / Detrick OR McPherson
DT: Bailey / Ramos OR Mason
DE: Peck / Mata'afa OR Wilson IV
Edge: Pifferini / Optiz
LB: Tolbert / Otlewski OR Moran
LB: Leonard / Stevenson OR Oven
Slot: Wilkinson / McGurran or Walker
CB: Loud / Lawler or Salopek
CB: Ford / Brady or Huff
S: Rausch / Wolfe OR Boyd
S: Harper OR Cutler / Beaner

Spots I like: RB is stacked, DL has limited experience but lots of guys to rotate, LB should have some hitters, WR is going to be FAST, TE's will block their ass off and help the run game but could be sneaky good in the pass game, that CB room is going to talk so much trash.

Concerns: CB is super light on experience, lots of moving pieces at safety, OL depth, DB/CB depth.
What am I missing with Rausch? I saw some serious struggles with him last year in coverage.

O line depth and who will be center is a blind spot for me so I took some big guesses there - you could totally be right on Buehler. I know Pavlik has been working the younger guys pretty hard and I'm excited to see how a year + worth of training and skills work with him has paid off.

Mason will be a force, love his game, needs to add weight for the position.

Hot take: the Grizzlies 2025 breakout player isn't on the roster yet, he'll be a spring / summer addition.
lol. yeah. and his name is Peevy.

Hot take #2: The Griz should go after that USD O-lineman that just entered the portal yesterday.

I think otlewski has all the physical tools and a ton of upside, but I really like what Leonard brought when he came back at the end of the season. Seemed to be in on every play. Certainly doesn't seem to have sideline to sideline speed like a centaur, but I was impressed with his game. I felt like otlewski was occasionally not where he needed to be, but another spring and fall camp should help with that.
I certainly didn’t see that at all and don’t think Leonard is anywhere near the athlete Otlewski is.

just like Jaxon Lee. Never seen anyone give up more boneheaded plays like him ever. Was shocked he was still on the field midseason let alone post season
We must've been watching 2 different defenses. Jaxon gave up a few plays, but usually always in the right spot and a sure tackler. Loved the way he played. Rausch will make a big step this year too. He struggled at times, but also saw his first significant game action last season. Growing pains. Tim was high on him and his progress this spring.
