MBBALL 2025 Big Sky Conference Transfer Tracker

--I was thinking about this last night, Jensen Bradtke could stay in the US and watch his fellow teammates make money while playing college basketball while he couldn't. Or, he could go home and get the same type of experience with the added bonus of getting paid. Really don't blame the dude.

I really wanted him back, despite his obvious defensive liabilities, because he was going to be a key cog in the rotation next year. Really liked what he brought to the squad. Had tons of growth potential on both ends of the floor.

-- I am a bit less bullish than i was a week or two ago (w/ Kai Johnson news and now Bradtke) and the absurdity that Sacramento State about where the roster stands. Tis life of Division I college basketball program these days.

-- I think you'll see the Griz in on a lot of depth post pieces. There are guys I would love to see them go after (Jazz Gardner or even Lawson Lovering) but I'm not sure they are looking for front-end potential week 1 starters. I think they need guys who are willing to be a role player or the staff will need to convince current roster guys to take a reduction in PT. They have a good trio (Sawyer/Betts/Edmonds) but they don't have a lot behind that group (true freshman Aguino) and a better wing/forward defender in Jedkins. Anything can happen obviously, but guys like Vukicevic (WSU-FR), Lemke (Gonzaga-FR) or some one like Gearhardt (So. Colorado) might make more sense. Haven't the foggiest if there is any true recruitment (Lemke was connected w/ MSU and brother is also in the portal (SF-Portland), but this is of course total speculation who the Griz might be in on at this point.

I wouldn't be too upset about the loss of Bradtke. Like you highlighted, he had defensive liabilities and while he was able to knock down some threes for us, at 6'10 he needs to be more than just a guy who stands in the corner. When did he ever honestly play down low? He wasn't any type of a rebounder for us really, nor did he have any type of inside presence at all. At 6'10 he should've been one of the primary post players for us. The only thing that gave me hope about him was that he was a freshmen and I was hopeful that the staff could get him lined out, but ultimately I don't think he's a huge loss. I much prefer a guy like Jedkins over him.

I still think we're gonna have a pretty good team next year. We still got 2 spots to fill and we'll wait to see what the staff does with those, and we'll wait to see what happens with Kai as well. Plus not to make this overly political but I think Kai has a good chance at winning his lawsuit considering he filed it in Missoula and the judge is likely to be a bleeding heart.

Right now we have three returning starters, all of which were either all-conference or borderline all-conference: (Pridgen, Money, Sawyer). That's a damn good returning core and then you throw in Betts, Anderson and Taylor and that's a pretty good 6 man rotation with depth guys of Jedkins and Isaak. Plus who knows if a guy like Henderson or Thompson breaks out for us next year. Hell maybe even Aguino is good enough to play right away.

Winning a title is never easy but I feel very good about our chances to repeat. It won't be easy with the likes of Sac and the cats who are recruiting well but we got the new and returning pieces to be the favorites in my mind.

Teat was a walk on at Utah. I don't know what he may have been doing over the past year. Maybe he has made himself into an allamerican PG. Shaq State will probably do well with him under the tutelage of the Shaqster himself.
I know nothing about Teat, in fact, we havent announced anything official about him yet ...I'm disappointed that we couldnt hang on to Dioramma...I think he has a ton of upside...

I would not at all buy in to Sac State as a contender. Sure there’s a lot of athletes. How do they mesh? This is a team sport. Having high octane athletes who haven’t shown buy in to defense or culture is not, and has never been a recipe for winning at any level. Bibby absolutely has his work cut out for him in what will be his first collegiate coaching experience. There’s a reason Travis and staff look for career winners in the portal. Sometimes, you learn that the hard way. The Griz themselves did with the Steadman, Gaskin and company class.

A team I think that has upgraded a lot this spring in the portal is Montana State. Nothing jumps off the page, but they’re making notable upgrades across the board and have seemingly put themselves back in contention.

At home, the Griz absolutely need a guy to fill the Whitney role. Who’s that lead perimeter guy that both sets up others and can be put on other teams primary ball handlers? To me, we don’t have one. Whitney was an iron man and his presence will be missed.

This is a strong recommendation from Utah (now Nevada) Assistant Lo Leath. Lo is friends with Bibby, Teat was academically ineligible, but already enrolled at SAC and cleared to play I'm told.

The Sac State Depth Chart looks like this now with 7 players total, lol...

PG Mikey Williams (Memphis/UCF)
G Jayden Teat (Utah)
G Romari Robinson (True Frosh)
F Shaqir Oneal (LSU/Florida A&M)
F Bear Cherry (UNLV)

Bench
F Mark Lavrenov (True Frosh)
G Taj Glover (True Frosh

I feel like your coaches are doing a good job considering the late start they got on the whole process. I think you can expect improvement, but the true measure won't come right away.

Committed, but not signed for Sac State:

-Brandon Gardner (ASU)
-Kahuranaki Treacher (Eastern Arizona College)
-Zach Anderson (Scottsdale Community College)
