LadyGriz 2025 WBB Transfer Portal

Looks like a great fit for Nate's system. Here is what the Butler page says about her.

High School: Ended her high school career with 2,212 points, 870 rebounds and 112 assists... Averaged 30.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.0 assists per game during her senior year... Tabbed Team MVP... All-State honorable mention... Miss Basketball nominee... McDonald's All-American nominee... All-Conference selection... Named Academic All-State... Averaged 24.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as a junior... Scored 19 points per game while averaging 9.7 rebounds the year prior... All-conference selection... Helped her team win a conference championship... Scored 40 points against Delano while adding eight rebounds...All-State honorable mention selection in 2023... Named Offensive MVP at Holy Family Catholic... Played AAU ball for the Minnesota Fury.

Personal: Daughter of Jeff and Sara Land… Has three siblings; Judah, Gabriella, and Natalya.

Signing Land
"Jocelyn is like having a point forward at times with her ability to handle the ball against taller forwards but also has the ability to score on the blocks," Parkinson stated. "She has consistent range on her outside shot and has the ability to guard multiple positions."

Game footage of Holy Family Catholic, MN vs Dowling Catholic, IA (think Caitlin Clark) in Dec '22.

It will be interesting to see how much Jocelyn Land has improved her foot speed and body control.

Here's recent game footage of Butler vs Purdue-Ft Wayne in the 2025 WNIT. Jocelyn Land is #14 on Butler.

Pickton from the bubs committed to...Sac State.

There has to be something amiss with the WBB program at bub state. Otherwise that move makes zero sense.

She started every game her freshman season. Didn't start any game her sophomore year and minutes almost cut in half. Definitely going to Sac St for playing time.

I think she would have as much PT at MSU as she will at Sac.

100%, unless Binford has another Esmeralda Morales lined up to come in and play point guard next season. Missoula's own Lexi Deden also entered the portal today for her sixth year, unfortunately she was never able to get back to her prior levels of production after the knee injury that ended her '23-'24 season early on.

Looks like Deden started following Montana WBB on Instagram somewhat recently. Maybe nothing, or maybe she wants to play her final season in Missoula.

If she can return to her ‘23-‘24 season form, she’d be a game changer down low. Not uncommon to see athletes who are recovering from an ACL tear struggle in their first season back.

Even if she would give solid minutes as a rotational player, it's still an upgrade in depth.

Yeah. Sac already has one of the top point guards in the Big Sky in Versteeg. Picton has that capability to be all big sky but it's a head scratcher.
Especially since Esmeralda Morales graduated and Malea Egan transferred out. Who else would have been your point guard for next season other than Natalie Picton? Especially since Dylan Philip has to recover from her injury. Mattie Olson? I don't even know if Olson is still on the MSU roster.

Olson transfered to Utah Tech last yr.

By my guess, UM still has one scholarship opening. While upgrade in depth is great, I still think we need one more starter. We need an athletic, aggressive 6-1. 6-2 starter who can score, defend, and rebound. We need another Dani!
Lexi Deden begins her announcement entering the Portal with: "With a heavy heart" That makes me wonder if he was encouraged by MSU to leave, that she has no future at MSU. If they have no confidence in her, why should UM?
That said, if UM decides to bring her aboard, I will give my full support to their decision.
