What does the "craziest" contract ever mean? Almost all head coaches' contracts include a base pay and then lots of incentives for such thihngs as winning record, winning the conference title, ncaa tournament appearances, attendance goals, player academic accomplishments, etc. In addition, a UM head coach is not likely to get more money than a MSU head coach. Finally, there is only so much money the University system has to pay a coach regardless of how much the coach may "deserve."Does anyone know why this has not been done and announced yet? We have a solid team of players for next season but no coach under contract.
No, it's not even close. He would double his salary as an assistant at a P5 school.DeCuire isn't going anywhere. He could sign the exact same contract he has now, and STILL make more than most G5 coaches out there, like WAY MORE. I am not saying this in a bad way, but his contract is the craziest contract I have ever heard of.
His salary is low. But his contract allows him to escalate his compensation easily. He gets most of the revenue for playing money games. Then there is the normal escalators regarding conference championship, ncaa appearance, team grades etc etc. His escalations allow him to make a very good income for this level. No, it's not even close. He would double his salary as an assistant at a P5 school.
