Decisions have consequences. Here are a few that I see:
--Coaching: DeCuire stays. I can't see him leaving this program when Money has made such a big commitment to him and to this program. Or when this program has a chance next year to be a springboard to huge things for both DeCuire and Money.
--Recognition: This year Northern Colorado got all the pre-season press and filled in all the early blanks for the Big Dance pairings. Next year that all goes to us.
--Seeding: The last time Montana won a game at the Big Dance was when we were a 12-seed. If we can power through the Big Sky next year, and win one of the those early season games that have eluded us, we have a shot at a 12 or better. Only Money's return realistically gives us that shot.
--Recruiting: Great if Kai Johnson and Te'Jon Sawyer return next year. But what any mid-major needs if it's to advance beyond the first round is a powerhouse big man, 6'10" or better, with a great post game. Money's return gives us a better shot at recruiting that player, off the portal or from the jaycee ranks.
--Fan excitement. When's the last time a Montana team will have created this much excitement going into a season? It takes not only a winning team but star power to put butts in seats in Missoula. Money--by name, by talent--may be the brightest star this program has had since Kystko or even Micheal Ray.
