Death of the WAC, Opportunity for Summit to Sponsor Football

The sec and big10 are bullying there way to get 4 automatic bids from each conference for the playoffs starting 2026. Then in 2032 the big10 and sec media deals are up for renewal. They have been in light discussions about them separating themselves from the rest of fbs and using private money like the nfl and have there own playoff. They will add teams from the acc and big 12 and drop teams that are not up to par. It has been done before with the big east and sec.

Okay. Thx. I know all that. In my post, I was intending to say no way the SEC and Big 10 would agree to this:

“The idea I think that would be best is to follow a similar NFL style format and have 8 Divisions made up of 9 teams based on Regionality. Can Call them NCFC and ACFC (National/American College Football League), would give each team 8 Conference games and up to 4 OOC for Marquee matchups, rivalries etc.”

I agree that would be awesome but we are dealing with money. Money rules and sec and big10 don't want that other conferences to have a cut. Just look what they are trying to do to playoffs already. They don't want to share with g6.

And again, that's what I was saying. The 2 big conferences don't want to share money. That's why I asked you why you said this right under my post: "They are already having meetings about it." You were talking ab out something else. We were saying/thinking the same thing.

Weaker teams like #4 ASU. You should put a bit more effort behind your statements.
Might wanna do some research on historical context, Kem... You're better than that.

Historically, Arizona State has been what would be considered a "weaker" to middle-of-the-pack power school when you compare it to all the other power schools that have had sustained success year-after-year. One year, and recent bias, does not change that fact.

2024: #7 11-3
2023: 3-9
2022: 3-9
2021: 8-5
2019: 8-5
2018: 7-6
2017: 7-6
2016: 5-7
2015: 6-7
2014: 10-3
2013: 10-4
2012: 8-5
2011: 6-7
2010: 6-6
2009: 4-8
2008: 5-7
2007: 10-3
2006: 8-5
2005: 7-5

Had no need to dig into history. Dillingham has them in the top 10 and they have the resources to stay there. He is the real deal.

The overall direction of college football is being driven by money and market share, not by a schools historical record. No one making the big decisions cares that ASU went 7-6 in 2017.
