MBBALL Elevation Differential

Madison, WI 783 ft.
Missoula, MT 3209 ft.
Denver, CO 5280 ft

Does this mean anything considering the times since their last games?
We will find out!
Not sure how long the ol cheese heads will be in Denver before the bout, to acclimate to proper elevation… Let’s see if we can compete at Big 10 level basketball.

4500 foot difference will do something to them, but I don't think too much, especially if they slow it down. Elevation just took you a little longer to recover from big bursts.

A 3,791 ft difference between Missoula and Flagstaff, so Griz have working experience with altitude adjustments. Badgers might be taken aback by it. Not quite like climbing Mt. Everest, but it may wear on them.

I think elevation means zero on Thursday.
Griz have to hold their own on the boards (at least make it close) , play decent post defense and shoot a high percentage (especially from 3) to keep it close to have a shot late. If it’s close with 5 mins left then it gets a lot tighter for them. If Griz pull win out and anyone from Wisconsin blames it on elevation that is some weak ass stuff for a Big 10 team.

If it is close late watch the BYU fans which should have the strongest showing of the 4 fan bases in the Griz session start rooting for the Griz to make history. I think the key is starting hot and shooting a high percentage. Wisco has 2 7 footers the size difference will be a problem if the Griz fall behind early.

The only way I see elevation having any kind of factor is if it’s close late and both teams start getting tired. Then it could start to wear on them more.
I think that if we can pass the ball a lot, make those twin towers move to defend us, keep it close in the first half, elevation could be a minimal to moderate aid to us in the second half if the game remains close, especially late.

Move without the ball and push the ball up the court on offense so WI has to run. The more they run, the quicker they get tired. Try to extend your bench, if possible, early in the game. Use a collective wear-them-down approach.

Given Montana's lack of size, I don't think Crowl and Winter will be playing together all that often - they have to be able to guard two of your guys, and I just don't think they'll be able to. My guess is they combine for about 45 minutes, if that.
I would play them both together as much as possible and go high-low. I estimate they will each get 30-32 minutes.
