I was young in 75 but remember all of these. Syracuse was by far the worst one. Had no answer for their size in the 2-3 zone and I think Cherry was banged up. It was painful. Had legit shots in New Mexico and Florida St in 2nd half. Griz are underdogs again but it is still great experience for players and fans. And you never know..that is why NCAA basketball tournament is the greatest sports event in the US.

This will be a short thread. Many games, few victories.

I've attended three: Oregon at Sacramento, and New Mexico and Syracuse in San Jose.

The Oregon game ended in a fight, when when an Oregon kid, dribbling out the clock with a 20 point lead, threw down a vicious dunk as time expired and one of our kids took exception. Details fail me. Shane Christiansen was our point guard in that game, the only one who could match Oregon's athleticism. Oregon ran up the score when he was out.

New Mexico was a great game. Will Cherry missed a couple of key shots down the stretch but that was definitely a winnable one for us.

Syracuse? Forget it. A nightmare. Worse, I took my young grandson, and since his Mom (my daughter) and Dad met at Syracuse, he sat next to me rooting for them. Took him four days to walk all the way back to San Francisco.
