Very cool news. I think he can be a good one with his wrestling background and high level athletic ability. I expect him to have success.
If you haven't been to those events, they can be a lot of fun at the Adams Center. Great way to get out and support a former Griz, I'm sure a lot of his teammates will be there to cheer him on.
In the main event is Lloyd Mix, who used to be Lloyd Woodard. He had a great MMA career at one point, giving a great match against one of the Pitbulls in Bellator. I was really hoping he would win that tournament.
The whole show should definitely be well worth the price of admission if you are in town that night.

My brother wrestled with Lloyd at Hellgate. Very cool down to earth kid.
My MMA interest has been mostly watching Ronda Rousey and Sean O’Malley but this would be fun. I’m an old boxing fan but that isn’t very compelling anymore.
What a small world! My future sister-in-law lived with Lloyd's ex back like 20 years ago.
Its worth the time. I grew up a boxing fan, but I'm with you. I got excited for a couple of fights in the last few years, but MMA has surpassed it for me. Rousey was so much fun to watch (and I have a weird thing for her). Loved the way Gene Lebell brought a stopwatch to her early fights. That was BDE.

Agreed Fusion Fight League is an MMA promotion out of Billings and they do a great job. Have events all over the state and have grown a ton over the years and have attracted real talent. Plus the low level undercard fights are always fun.
So pissed how boxing is essentially dead.
Growing up we used to watch Sugar Ray in primitive on tv...we knew all the champions by division.
Now - most, including me, cannot name one of them. Sad.

I highly recommend you put your eyes on Gatti/Ward 1, Rockyesque. Hardly the star power as Hagler/Hearns, but they managed to go the distance despite doling out immense punishment on each other. Worth the watch.

Some of my fav memories growing up was watching fights with my dad. Definitely sad that boxing has died. That’s the nature of the fan base though. MMA is a more brutal sport then boxing and the knockouts come quicker.
The first Canelo/GGG was pretty freaking good…especially given the slop we’ve been force fed the past 15 years.
If you grew up with Sugar Ray, you are probably about my age; "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler, Tommy "The Hitman" or "Motor City Cobra" Hearns, John "The Beast" Mugabi, Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor, Ray "boom Boom" Mancini, and "Bazooka" Limon. Those were the days of great fighters; and I'm forgetting guys like Alexis Arguello and of course Roberto "Hands of Stone" Duran.

Old heads don’t want to hear it, but Floyd Mayweather and Terrence Crawford would beat the brakes off of every single guy you just named. Pacquiao would too.
Yep - loved all of them and we got to see them on TV frequently.
Maybe - also true that any current NFL team would beat the Lombardi-led Packers 100 times out of 100.
Bet you a billion young folks have never - ever seen any of those you name fight...vast majority won't even know who you are talking about.
Everyone knew who Sugar Ray, T Hearns, M Hagler were because we watched them fight on ABC.
Maybe, the only guy I've ever seen Mayweather fight is Pacquiao and vice versa and I've never heard of Terrence Crawford. Comparing generations in any sport is a fun way to pass the time in a bar but really can't be backed up. Give the old guys the training methods of today and give the new guys the training of back then?
The only one that really holds up is the decathlon because the scoring is the scoring, which is why whenever a guy says "X" is the greatest athlete ever, they are wrong the answer is Jim Thorpe.

I tend to disagree somewhat here. Comparing past greats in football to today's greats is apples to oranges when considering the size differences, let alone training methods. Boxing however, has set weight classes. So a welterweight from the 80s is the same size as a present day welterweight, and there isn't much difference in the "sweet science", it is what it is. Football schematics have changed drastically over time, but boxing is still boxing, it hasn't changed much, if at all. It is much easier and more accurate to compare past with present. That being said, we can only speculate.
The 80s were definitely the heyday of boxing, especially the lower weight classes where Leonard/Hagler/Duran/Hearns were all active at the same time, being pit against each other multiple times. Would absolutely love to see some AI generated round-robin tournament with Mayweather and Crawford thrown in, add Canelo, Pacquiao, and maybe Julio Caesar Chavez, Pernell "sweet pea" Whitaker, or a Mark Breland and let 'em duke it out. Now that would be something worth the price of admission.
