LadyGriz Ladies vs. Sac Game Thread

Ladies have a very nice 1st half and lead by 9. Sac has 8 turnovers and Lady Griz have 10 assisits. Griz have lead the whole game.

Two fairly evenly matched teams, a fun one to watch. Looks like we bettered them on 3's, close game both around 40% FG, we only had 9 TO. Bench showed better contribution, defense looked ok, but we got beat a few times on give/go, dribble drive, and fast breaks. Someone mentioned TMC. not starting, 5 pts this game, on a slump? I wonder how much simple but important things like the flu going around affecting players...just a thought. Watching this game makes it clear enough differences of play and performance (a big gap in my take) of the LG, and Sac compared to conference leaders. Go Griz!

Last time a coaching change happened, it provided a spark. I am starting to think there needs to be another coaching change that may provide another spark. Can they do that before saturday's game?
Except for Konig, The team just seemed to struggle against the second worst team in the league at home. Sac St had pretty much just one decent player on the team and she scored a triple double.

As it looks to me now, I predict a one and done in the tournament.

Sac beat Idaho so they are capable of being better than 2nd to last.

As far as a coaching change creating a spark hear me out. As much as Tyler can score sometimes there's times she can't hit and disappears. In Cat/griz she was struggling. And you could see her struggling and having things effect her too much. She fouls out. Early. She was shaking her head well into the 2nd foul shot by a Cat player at one point after being called for a foul. Nate mentioned after the game he had the press on because he was trying to get them to guard through their scoring drought. so maybe a year of making them mentally stronger by Nate makes a difference. It's not so much a spark needed. I've heard Bin before talk about how her players have to pull themselves out of a funk she's not calling a timeout to get them to. Could be way off but just a thought.

Also I heard it mentioned Mack took off her wrapping. I didn't know how she was injured. Fingers?

Mack has often had her left knee wrapped up since she's been here - I think there was a couple times the last couple years she had both knees wrapped up. Not sure - maybe was just trying to add more stability as a precaution?

Only one game in her freshman year she played without any knee support. That is only home games though. there may have been some road games her freshman year she didn't wear any knee support. Last year it was pretty much one knee except for the last weekend and tournament she had both knees wrapped or some other type of knee support.

I sit in the row at Lady Griz games and Tyler is the only player I've heard yell a four letter word at a ref. Lucky ref didn't call a technical on her.
