LadyGriz Lady Griz down 22 and it's still the first half; I thought Holsinger was a good recruiter

LG are 10-15 coming into this game. Where are all the Holsinger cheerleaders now? Good thing the assistant took over, or the record would be worse. Hopefully, the LG can get things straightened out. I feel bad for them, and for what they probably had to put up with in recent years.

I have no issue with the recruits. Poor coaching is the main culprit. Total lack of improvement. This is why I think a total reset is necessary.
I really like Harris and Wooley. They are great guys and are working hard. But it's hard to defend their return based on the results. Starting over again and again is a recipe for disaster. And we most likely will lose players and recruits. The program is looking like a disaster, and I don't know how we recover. The program looks so bad, I'm not sure we can attract a quality coach willing to take it on.

Oh c'mon.

Montana is one of the most attractive low-majors jobs in the entire country.

The ladies play their hearts but it’s pretty evident the cats are more athletic and coached better. In this day and age we just don’t have the $$$ to get a high level coach. We need to find an assistant, maybe from the Midwest, that has connections to a greater pool of talent. Sprinkle that with a couple up and coming Montana recruits and then maybe we can climb back up to respectability. But it won’t happen overnight. With the right coach(ing) we could get there in 3/4 years.

Yeah, trying to bank on the past performance does not mean a lot to today’s kids. True, we do have the facilities (soon to have new ladies locker rooms?) that are better than anything in the BSC but then you’re trying to compare with other mid major conferences we just don’t compare.

With the support the LG receive? Please.

I think Avery, Mak, Dani, and Tyler are all good. MJ too. Mak was a top 100 recruit. Look up where she had other offers to. But it sounds like her relationship with BH was the reason she came to UM. We know she took a leave for a game after the Incident. I just wonder if she’s really 100%, mentally yet. I think Dani could've forced her presence in the paint a little more. At one point Tyler was called for a foul. Her 3rd? And she wasn't in agreement with the call. And honestly I thought it could've gone a no call, it happened in front of me. But as whichever Cat player was shooting their 2nd freethrow, Tyler was still shaking her head in disagreement. You have to flush that and move on. Nate made mention of the fouls at the presser afterwards saying you can't hang your head on not getting a foul call. And he saw them doing that today. And you have to d up through your shooting lulls. I think you really saw certain griz players start to melt as the game went on and the Cat's lead increased. Your two starting guards had no made field goals. None. Zingaro players fewer minutes in the last couple games. In watching it appears teams have decided if they collapse on her and double team her, she's not quick enough nor does she have the hands to control the ball with 2 or 3 people slapping at it around her. She was good one on one, but it seems like teams have figured this out. I see her excel on D on post players because she has enough mass she doesn’t move. Lexi bodied up on her in the game, and figured out after trying to bump her twice, she wasn't moving.

At the end of the day I think you have good players. Good enough to be a top 4 team in the Big Sky. I don't see the mental toughness they need to be there. Is that BH? Has Nate had enough time to fix it?

Keep your grubby bear paws off of Loree Payne. Let us Lumberjacks fans have something positive/nice/successful for once.
* whispers * maybe the LG job isn’t as “must have/for sure will take” with the way the last 10/12 years have went. It is possible Payne wouldn’t want to do another rebuild after all the years of building up NAU.

She what now 8 years in and started this year at 1 game above .500? I'm with you. If she has a good thing why spend another 7 years in Missoula building something new.

According to the NAU site, her first year was 2017 - you’re right on the button. 8th year.

Yeah, not to say that I don’t want her to take it/be interested in it - but I kinda doubt it will happen.
