Watched a bit on ESPN+. I’m guessing Abby was injured, was in 3/4 zip top the whole game. Sounded like Bartsch tweaked something in her lower leg sometime in the first quarter on a missed shot then was really slow getting back on D. Was subbed out and didn’t return for the rest of the game.
Good win by the Ladies. Another big game coming up on Saturday vs Payne and NAU.

Dani landed awkwardly on her left foot early in the first half. When she returned to the bench she had an ice pack on her left ankle. A tough game vs. the Jacks will be significantly tougher without Dani.
GrizWBB played a solid game at both ends but missed numerous make-able shots (a handful or more of them layups) throughout. Zingaro took a beating by the Bears but played a solid, physical low-paint game.

Zangaro. Power and accuracy I knew but her hands! She held on to some really tough passes like Velcro. Saw her signing autographs at end…she’s a lefty. Her three was aces. Dani’s absence showed she’s the backbone. My thought tweaked ankle preserve her for NAU? Can always hope. Great win felt like I’d had a workout just watching. Go Lady Griz!
Winning while playing down two starters is a good sign. Zingaro/Pirog will have to be at their best against Glancey of NAU. Konig will need to play lock down defense on Feldman. Stop those two and you give yourself a chance. I hope we can make it a good game and maybe even get the win.
Here are the stat's for last nights game, TMC, Izzy, Waddi, what a show. Waddi/lay ups...yup, but 13 RB's and x5 Assists, young lady plays with a cool head for a frosh. Really enjoy watching MJ's defense that is tenacious, her enthusiasm among teammates is palpable! Our PT guards Mac and Donarsky combined 30 minutes, combined scoring 5 pts, combined TO=8, combined Assists=5. ....not good! Mac seems just off, more so obviously this game, the turnovers were just bad play. Here is a shot in the dark observation per Mac's play. I notice Mac tends to play the point, low profile bent over dribble posture, that in my opinion may obscure better play? As Grizrunr noted, down 2 starters, but finding a way to get better every game. Credit to Nate Harris & staff for a lot of fundamental, incremental, game-by-game improvement. Zingaro is a prime example & this Harris quote illustrates how the coaches are now putting these players into situations where they have strentgh... and where they can succeed.
This quote from Harris: "We've simplified things and have tried to get her touches in certain spots," said Harris. "Proud of her ability to stay the course and trust the process. I credit her teammates as well for getting her the ball in great spots. If you're going to try to guard her one-on-one, you're going to have a problem."
It'll be tough with Dani and Aby sidelined, but players are stepping up. So much fun to watch how this team is responding to the coaches.

Outplay NAU?
That will be an interesting game. Lady griz lost to the Cats by 1. But maybe down 2 starters. NAU coming off a loss to the Cats and only 2 losses in Big Sky play. Will they be extra motivated because of the loss? Will they be tired playing their 3rd game in less than a week? They played Monday, Thursday against the Cats, and now Saturday while the Lady griz played Saturday, Thursday, and now Saturday.
