New look Griz WR corps

Speculating on who will be good with so much talent be it young or transfer is like picking the lottery. Let me know how its done so I can buy a Powerball.
White, Racanelli, and Bergen were the only good receivers we lost? And Bergen was about average at that position. KR/PR, amazing. But, he wasn't a superstar receiver. Racanelli didn't get as much playing time as he should of. The only one that will be pretty hard to replace is White. Yes, Bergen will be hard to replace as a returner but, that's about it. Love the kid and without him the griz wouldn't have done so well but, once again that was because of his returning abilities.

Bergen, Fontes, White and Harris were all very talented and will be hard to replace, but I'm wondering if having an offense that isn't just 3 or 4 slot receivers the majority of the time might actually be a better thing next season.

Like I said, those guys were all great, but were all very similar WRs.

I think that you are absolutely spot on. Its part of the reason I was excited to have Grossman back, even when our offense was humming, and why I always wondered why Simpson didn't get more play just to add a guy with significant height out there as a matchup problem. Obviously there were good reasons, but I think you are right that we had three very good, and very similar wrs out there quite often.

The fact he was vastly under utilized wasn’t his fault. He caught literally everything thrown his way…unlike some others.

Fontes dropped half his passes. Harris barely played. White by far the biggest loss.

Sounds like the players expected to be the best receivers have little to no experience. Hendrix, Davis, are Bridges are all freshmen while Wortham was a QB/RB/returner.
I think Deck (Sr) and Gursney (Soph) will shine.
