LadyGriz Holsinger on Leave

Anyone else thinking this reeks of a soft younger generation? Not saying the girls are in the wrong but maybe people shouldn't be so quick to just say "anger issues" or personally attack the guy when we have zero facts. Holsinger showing fire seems to be an issue for a lot of you but I always looked at that as passion and was a fan. We don't have any clue what actually happened regardless of what people wanna spew on here. I'm sure his family is reminding him that he is a good husband and father right now.

I am sure they are reminding him of that. But any individual that loses it enough to get kicked out of a middle school traveling team tournament has anger issues. That aint showing "fire" that is being an ass.

Once again does anyone have the complete breakdown of how he got thrown out? What led up to it? What the ref said to him? What he said to the ref? Nope. The ref very easily could've been power tripping themselves, which I've seen a lot of refs love to do at any level. I get it's a hard job to ref but no one can take hearing "you suck" every once in awhile and it's sad. I mean it's sports, it gets emotional. You've never been an ass to someone because I certainly have a time or two. All I'm saying is no one should be putting judgement on anyone when no one has the 100% truth.

Thats some church you go to. Does everyone spread rumors like that, or just a select few? Sanctimonious bunch you hang with. I remember something about bearing false witness. You should consult someone about this.
I knew a person like that a long time ago. Always asking for information about some things which she had no business knowing. And spread info the same way. Her lips would tighten, never see them move, like a Ventriloquist, without the puppet. Then in hushed tones would come out with some vile shit. She was the town gossip, 20 years before the Internet took her place.
Gotta love angry douchebag atheists. Cry harder.

I suppose it’s based on hindsight, so I will reserve judgment until there is reliable information about what happened - instead of rumors and speculation. Holsinger put together a nice team in his third year.

At this point, based on hindsight and at least until recently, he has been better than Stitt, Shannon, and the soccer or volleyball dude who went off the rails. The Lady Griz did beat UW earlier this year.

If the leave stems from an “altercation,” I hope it did not involve any student athletes.
Yes, Stitt was so under qualified his offensive schemes were used in the NFL. Gotta love all the trashing of Stitt.

I've ref'd. That said, now that I looked back at it, I asked myself, "why?" Verbal abuse by parents, coaches, Administrators(no shit), and yes, PLAYERS(the ultimate result of parent(s). One HS game the School Administrator followed us to the dressing room and angrily confronted my partner, a very experienced official AND administrator. After a brief verbal exchange, telling this clown he might never get officials to his school ever again, and shoving him out the door, he turned to me and said, "Where do they get these people?"

A scene for 'The Bad News Bears(original)' illustrates my point about parents. Coach(Vic Morrow) tells pitcher(his son) to walk a batter, but son tries to strike him out, but beans or nearly beans the batter. Coach goes out to the mound, verbally rips the kid, then slaps the kids face, knocking him to the ground.

I have seen this kind of parental behavior in other situations. Its sickening. Living their own failed lives through their kids. Kids, officials, and coaches put up with this shit. I know of one kid who didn't want to go to practice because dad was going to come watch, then end up quitting when Administration wouldn't allow closed practice. The kid was afraid of dad.

Holsingers middle school behavior should have been a red flag.

No. A few of his plays were used in the NFL. In the NFL, offensive schemes use tight ends as blockers to help protect the QB. How many QBs went down under Stitt because of inadequate protection? Tell us about Stitt’s focus on OL recruiting and great defense.

Out of the gate, I was hopeful about what Stitt could do, but by the third year I skipped a few home games and was considering giving up my season tickets. I miss the green ball cap, though.

It is not clear what you mean by “firsthand knowledge.”

Was this person actually present when the “incident” occurred? If so, did this person actually see what happened? If the answer is “no” to either of these two questions, did Holsinger himself state to this person what occurred during the “incident”? Did the individual who was “shoved” tell this person directly what happened?

Otherwise, it’s still just a rumor. If it’s true, Holsinger is a miscreant and a jerk (at a minimum, because the actions may constitute battery or perhaps assault and battery) who should not be coaching the team, but no one should jump to conclusions based upon a rumor.

I won’t comment on the church accusation or the Vaseline comment because I think both are out of line.
Think about it. It should be obvious who knows exactly what happened and they spoke about it at church. It’s no rumor. It’s fact. Whether you choose to believe it or not is up to you. But to do so is to call her a liar.

There is a 2nd validation from a totally different source that I know about but that person would have to leave their comments on this side.

YOU are the one who brought up the church angle, like what you claim is therefore more believable. Take out 'church' and insert 'behind the Mo Club' or some other reference of your choice, and what have you got?
I'm sure UM has its reasons for sitting on this for as long as they have, legal considerations primarily, but it looks more and more like MSdUi's handling of their boozing coaches. So much for transparency.
If what you claim is true, this 'investigation' would be wrapped up, typed up, and presented to Administration within 24 hours. Ya don't have to be Columbo to put it all together. Oh, just one more thing...UM loses credibility the longer this is dragged out.
Krackwhore is probably on a plane to Missoula as I write this, for his second blockbuster best seller, soon to be a series, about Missoula and UM athletics.
I’m pretty sure UM has the statement from the source.

I don’t need to think about and I am not calling anyone a liar. But I understand the difference between evidence and a rumor. Based upon your reply that avoids providing any foundational information, it appears you are perpetuating a rumor. Pretty simple.

I don’t know what happened, but the allegations are serious. I look forward to learning credible information based upon facts.

I have been a parent, official and coach. Most of those officials that work those games are young guys. And let's start with it is just a middle school game. And if anyone yells "you suck" at a middle school official they are another level of ass. Especially when you the head women's coach at the University of Montana. This is what a witness said.
Scott Taylor, a former MOA official who was in the gym, saw the incident differently.
"When it first started happening, and it was more than two minutes in, I saw the referee engage with someone and I didn't know at the time it was the Lady Griz coach and I didn't know it was his mom, but what I did know that happened is the ref was just trying to get them to sit down and calm down," Taylor said. "The ref gave them multiple opportunities within a two- or three-minute span to stop talking.

"You could hear them yelling at the official the whole game. They wouldn't stop talking and that's when he said you're out."

Holsinger most likely now has an attorney. That will slow things to a snail pace. And after the Shannon debacle, Haslam will make sure all the T's are crossed.
But with Coach H being placed on leave mid-season, coupled with a disappointing season, an incident of some concern happening, and this being his contract year, he has no chance to remain as head coach at UM. It's just gonna take longer than most of us want.
This. It's going to be far cheaper to put him on leave, pay him and then not retain him. If they fire him it's lawyer fees and costs and settlements most likely. Season will end in a month and a half. Then it's done. Firing coaches gets expensive and if you can avoid it, you do it.

Ah yes, the good old days when putting hands on females was OK. I think you are focusing on the wrong thing.

He is a University Head Coach, he has no business arguing with middle school referees. Immature, and not the example we want to set, and most definitely a poor role model.

I would love to see you put the stripes on and give it a go... If you have been to any HS games recently you will notice how many back to back games these guys do. Tournament refs are usually working 10-15 games.

UncleRico posted a good summary as witnessed by another, at 7:46 am today.

Yes. Plus, it gives a fair shake to the assistants (since they know the formation of this program) to both pick up the pieces and to prove themselves as a team of coaches.
