I read zero posts, but my feeling on the title subject is "who cares?". With the portal, this will be normal to some degree for every team every year.

You sure don't care about a lot if things you care enough to comment on. Riveting insight and stellar football acumen is levied every time you hit submit.

I have been wondering if our run to the national championship game last year led to us getting the scraps more or less in the portal

I honestly think this might be part of the explanation for why our transfers in last season were mostly whiffs. It's not so much that you can't recruit guys because I think that's mostly done online these days anyway. But you don't know who's leaving the program until way later so you don't know what holes you need to fill.
Bobcats having 14 people leave after the majority of portal players have already found a home is a massive disadvantage for them.

That is the interesting part I believe.
They only lost 14 in the portal however when you couple that with 24 seniors that is a good percentage of your roster.

But are they?? They haven't announced one incoming transfer to my knowledge. I mean, unless TT recruits a bunch of his boys down there at the sanitation department, I don't see how they get that many in.

There’s a ton of kids in the portal looking for a new home. They’ll have plenty of opportunity to bring some kids in. The question is are most of the good ones already gone

Doesn’t everyone have to opt in or out of the settlement before the spring window? My guess is there will be lots of guys becoming available after spring ball when roster limits move to 105.

Sounds like the agreement won't be finalized until sometime in April and then I would assume a deadline to opt in. The deadline could very well be after the Spring window.
